Hotel Verde Cape Town Airport Reviews

I stayed here for one night as I was transiting Cape Town with a flight the following morning. The check-in experience was pretty quick and seamless, as my booking was pre-paid. I stayed here being fully aware of the carbon-neutral moto. The hotel appeared clean and tidy. The free shuttle from the airport was trouble-free. The directions to the pick-up was simple to follow. The pick-up was on time, and it was a very short ride to the hotel - literally a matter of minutes. The room I was allocated - 233 - was spacious and clean. However, I was surprised by the bizarre layout, especially with the way the shower and bedroom is almost open plan - only a screen separate the two areas. The toilet is separated by a door, though. Other than that, I had no major issues with the room. The bed was large and comfortable, my sleep was not disturbed and it was generally a positive short stay. The shower worked fine, it took a little getting use to the water-saving feature in the sink tap. The toilet flush may have a malfunction, because it would stay stuck when pressed, and required tapping for the button to return from a pressed state. I felt safe during my stay, and was reassured by the security procedures in place when booking an Uber - drivers are asked to scan their driving licence at the gate when entering the grounds. The drive to the V&A Waterfront was about 25-30 minutes. I had a late lunch at the hotel restaurant - Nuovo. The menu was okay, but not spectacular. I visited the restaurant when it was relatively quiet with diners. However, I found staff were not particularly attentive. It took a while before someone approached me and provided a menu. The vegan burger I order was nice, even if it looked a bit dry. It was the only chargeable thing I incurred, which I put on the room (250 ZAR to pay on check-out). The breakfast is a decent buffet of hot and cold food, plus live omelette bar. There’s also pancake making facilities, automatic coffee machines and more. On check-out, to my surprise, I was informed of bills totally 600 ZAR. I explained that I only had one meal at 250 ZAR, which the reception staff accepted. However, a few days later, I received emails claiming that I had an unpaid bill for 350 ZAR, which I had to explain again in my response (I did not receive further contact after that). I think this was a case of staff incorrectly reading a room number when processing, or a guest deliberately giving the wrong room number. I caught the shuttle back to the airport after checking out, again trouble-free. All-in-all, a very good airport hotel, and one I could easily recommend to others.

A lovely hotel and spa. It is very close to the airport and has a shuttle service leaving every 30 minutes. Fine dining restaurant and great breakfast. There is a natural swimming pool, be sure to go for a dip!

The Hotel is good as usual but the kitchen produced really bad meals , I gave the Lamb Babootie 2 out 10 it was terrible- I cook this in the UK - the meat was just minced lamb - if could have been beef ? It was reheated in a microwave so served at too high a temperature to be safe. The other dish that we ordered was a salad - this looked like it was dispensed from a bought in salad bad with some added oil - very disappointing- did they have a chef in the kitchen?? We have stayed at this hotel for many years without complaining! Management please accept this feed back.

The hotel experience was great from the start to finish. Reception was lovely and friendly. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very good experience.

Great Stay for a Convenient & Comfortable Airport Stopover I stayed at Hotel Verde for just one night to catch my early flight, and it was the perfect choice. The location is incredibly convenient, and the shuttle service was punctual and easy to find ~ making my airport transfer stress-free. My room was very comfortable, and I was lucky enough to have a lovely view of Table Mountain, which was a nice bonus! The restaurant exceeded expectations ~ both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the service was excellent. The staff and shuttle drivers were all friendly and accommodating, which made my short stay even more pleasant. Considering the free shuttle, complimentary breakfast, and overall sense of safety (especially important as a solo traveler), the price was definitely worth it. I’d happily stay here again before a flight and would recommend it to other travelers looking for comfort and convenience.

Excelent hotel with the fine restaurant and transport from/to airport

Convenient hotel very near the airport. Check out time is early, 11AM, but you could negotiate with reception if you arrived late in the afternoon for check in. Shuttle to airport and back to hotel is convenient. But a driver, slim built, can drive so fast to the airport.

This hotel is perfect for arrival/departure or short stays to Cape Town. The free shuttle to airport is convenient and the rooms confortable and spacious.

Room cleanliness could be better. Found trash from pervious gues still in the trash bin. Bed sheets and linens were clean enough. 2 complimentary bottles of water was also provided. But it was sealed tight with plastic. Had to use a swiss-army knife to open it. Hotel should consider other methods for guest ease.

A fantastic hotel for airport stop over. Food , service, rooms and facilities are excellent. Really good value for money.

It was my first time staying at the Cape Verde Hotel, everything was more than my expectations, the shuttle bus was so convenient for drop off and pick up especially for our international flight, it was and easy find to find the pick up for the shuttle, I was impressed by how Eco friendly the hotel was and how friendly and accommodating the staff was, it met all my expectations. I will definitely be staying there again.

The location is very comfortable. Food is very nice. Shuttle bus is perfect.
