Hotel Route Inn Matsuyama Chuo -Katsuyama Dori-

I used this as accommodation during my pilgrimage. It was clean, had a large public bath and coffee service, and I had a very pleasant stay. I could see Matsuyama Castle from the window on the 13th floor. The amenities were also a nice touch.

The hotel has a great location; there's a school and a supermarket nearby, and a pedestrian street is just 200 meters away.

It's a bit far from Dogo Onsen, but there are plenty of good bars nearby. There are also many artisan shops and fun bars and snack bars.

It is a bit far from the tram. I recommend it to those who are fit enough to walk. It is clean. The staff are friendly as well. It is a small Japanese business hotel.

The only downside is that it's located in a dark area a little away from the street, but otherwise it's a very nice hotel! The service is worth the price, and the breakfast is delicious.

Location: About a 10-minute walk from the busiest shopping street in Matsuyama, the surrounding area is quite quiet, a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. There's a high school nearby, and seeing students leaving school gave it a Japanese anime-like feel. Service: The receptionist could communicate with me in basic English and was very friendly. The hotel check-in instructions weren't in Chinese, but there was an English version which I understood. Many Japanese budget hotels only clean once every three days, but this one seems to clean daily. Choosing the eco-cleaning option includes a drink voucher redeemable at the hotel vending machine. Room: Aside from being small, everything was perfect. The amenities were excellent, and it was quite comfortable to sleep in. The large onsen (hot spring bath) was also quite comfortable, although not large. I noticed it wasn't crowded. I think the Route Inn offers better value for money than the Dormy Inn. The buffet breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but I thought the taste was pretty good. I recommend the curry rice and fish snacks; it's enough to fill you up. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
