Stepping into this hotel was like entering a different world. Relaxing, and peaceful in the most beautiful setting. The rooms are well designed, more spacious than most hotels and very clean with lots of storage. The bed was big and very comfortable. The housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay. We had a first floor room with a balcony and good view of the gardens and the beach/sea. The staff are a credit to the hotel and a big part of the whole experience ,always polite and helpful and always looking smartly dressed. The service was excellent wherever you went. We ate in the Pink peppercorn, Dolphin bar and the main Restaurant. Breakfast was particularly good with a big choice, including plenty of fresh fruit, waffles, pancakes, cooked breakfast, breads. My husband celebrated his birthday while we were there and he was made to feel special with several lovely surprises including a cake and a card signed by the staff. Returning to our room in the evening we found the bed had been beautifully decorated. Thanks to Sheila in housekeeping and all staff involved for arranging these surprises. There’s a great water sports centre on the beach. The centre had its own glass bottomed boat so we went out on several snorkelling trips. Some days you can see lots of fish when snorkelling close to the beach even in the shallow reef. We loved the gym too and the lovely little air conditioned library/snooker room We would not hesitate to go back to this very special resort, we just loved everything.

We stayed at Sands for one week and switched hotels (as planned and pre booked) for the second week. What should I say? After one night we cancelled on our reservation and drove back to Sands without having any booking and are now able to enjoy another week at this outstanding hotel which already feels like home. Thanks for making this possible, Sands-Team! I personally never experienced such an amazing service. This is definitely worth more than 5 stars! The location is absolutely superb, the beach is great and you don’t need to stress about any ‘towel reservations’ to get your sunbed secured. In addition to that you are able to enjoy many water sports activities such as waterski, snorkelling, stand up paddle boarding etc. (for free) at the boat house right at the beach. Not to forget Jonathan who will make sure that you join his water gym sessions at 11am to deserve your drinks and food afterwards ;-) Food is also great and every evening you will have a theme for dinner and enjoy great food with a large variety as well as high quality. All in all I can highly recommend to spend your vacation here if you are planing to come to Mauritius. You won’t regret. Promise :)

We travelled to Mauritius as a couple to this paradisiacal hotel. The location is unique with a view of the sea and the mountains of Mauritius. Le Morne can be seen in the distance. Simply marvellous. The weather was perfect during our stay in April! The service is exceptionally good! Without being intrusive, every wish is fulfilled so that you will certainly never forget your days as a guest. Special thanks to Selven, who helped me with planning the birthday surprise for my wife and kept an eye on us the whole time to enjoy the hotel in every facet. Furthermore, I want to mention Jennifer, Farhaan, Soudesh and of course Krishna! Thank you very much for the great time until the last minute of our stay! If you like sports, than you definitely need to get in touch with Jonathan! He will be your best pal with keeping you motivated! His aqua gym is most fun! Do you have a wish at the pool or the beach? Ruddy will get you covered and reads every wish from your lips! The food in the hotel could be a little more varied. The quality of the food is good. You will definitely find something for yourself and be able to eat your fill. The drinks are high quality, varied and extremely tasty! Great wines from France, South Africa, New Zealand... are on offer! Great! The rooms are spacious and very cosy and stylishly furnished and therefore very cosy. Wi-Fi is very weak in the rooms (at least in ours), but you don't spend much time there anyway as there are lots of other places in the hotel to spend time. The hotel is very clean and well-kept! As there are so many further staff, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for the great time!

Top of the top - very nice staff, great service, very tasty meals. Swimming pool just next to beautiful beach. Very clean room and all of the public areas. I recommend very much!! You could not expect any more - this hotel deserves 5 stars! Already miss it 🫶

From the moment we arrived at this wonderful hotel we were made to feel welcome by Krishna and his super friendly staff. We had a garden room, looking out on the pool, the sea and the beautiful natural vegetation. It was very spacious and spotless, with a huge comfortable bed and an equally spacious bathroom/ shower room with a useful dressing area. We also had a shaded patio looking on to the lush gardens. The restaurants, bar, infinity pool and sandy beach are only a minute or two away and you can also amuse yourself playing tennis, volleyball, petanque, working out in the gym, snatching a quiet moment in the library or having a massage. All are available in a quiet understated kind of way. We only ate in the bar and restaurant because we found the amount and choice in the latter to be excellent, with a different themed menu each night. But the highlight of this holiday has been the amazing staff, who could not do enough for us and anticipated our every move with a smile . Special mention to Ivans and Jonathan but really everyone deserves a special award for kindness, courtesy and friendliness.

Can’t recommend Sands highly enough. The food is out of this world. The beds and decor amazing, and all the facilities top notch. But what makes it really special is the staff - all of whom went out of their way to ensure we had the best time - even when the weather didn’t oblige! It’s hard to pick anyone out for special mention because literally all staff members were unbelievably friendly, welcoming and helpful. Thank you all at Sands for a truly memorable trip.

Sands is a great hotel. The food is amazing, the rooms clean and comfortable but what sets Sands aside are the staff. They are genuinely friendly and can't do enough to help. Special shout out to Krishna, Sudesh, Ivans & Jonathan, but thank you to everyone else whose names we can't remember or didn't get. Thank you for welcoming us to Mauritius and making our stay so memorable.

We loved every minute of our stay at Sands, from the moment we arrived when we were greeted with a drink and a cooling towel to being waved off by the wonderful staff at this resort. The location is just wonderful, the shade cast by the palm trees, the gorgeous infinity pool and the proximity to the beautiful, safe, private beach. Our room was very comfortable with its huge bed , sitting area, lovely shaded veranda and the very spacious bathroom with bath, shower and dressing area. It was just a 1 minute walk to the bar, restaurant, gym, pool and even less time to the lovely sandy beach. Housekeeping was excellent, bringing fresh bottles of water morning and evening and a little treat of glasses of rum and snacks in the afternoon. The real jewel in the crown of this hotel are the staff, far too numerous to mention by name. They go out of their way to help with anything and everything, always friendly, always polite. A special mention for the two wonderful ladies cooking the eggs every morning - the loveliest, friendliest people you could hope to meet. The buffet food at dinner was very good indeed with a different theme every evening. We also at the Spices restaurant which was excellent. We did try the food at the Pink peppercorn and were not quite so impressed by that. So many activities to try out at Sands too and many of them at no charge. We tried out the glass-bottomed boat trip with a little visit to see the dolphins too, the paddleboards, pedalos and sea kayaking. All brilliant fun. I would have no hesitation in recommending this resort hotel.

Overall: 4*, fantastic place and amazing staff, but I had to mark it down due to water/wine markup/prices, with a subdued atmosphere at night, along with hit and miss entertainment. Summary: Accommodation and location: 5* ( our garden room was large, with a brilliant view of the Bay through the palm trees) Staff: 5* Facilities: 5* Food:4.5* ( the tuna is exceptional) Entertainment: 3.5* ( Dixie band, sega dancing and singing and the violinist were amazing, the rest was very average) Wine prices: 1* ( min about £60/bottle for red, buy similar wine at the supermarket for £10) Water price: 1* ( charged £2.50-£3.50/l for basic filtered or plastic bottled ) Other bar drink prices: 3.5* Tip: Check the restaurant and bar menus and prices before you go. it's on the hotel's website. If ok for you, then this is an amazing place to stay.
