Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa

This is a relatively small resort very nicely located at the south coast of Mauritius. The setup is stylish and gives a very relaxing atmosphere. All accommodations are scattered around the central reception and main restaurants. As soon as you arrive you get a warm reception and get introduced to your 1st point of contact during your stay. We were lucky to get Sandy, who we could send a Whatsapp message for anything and everything you like. He gave us the feeling we were the most important guests on the resort. Great service and very friendly staff everywhere. Facilities are excellent! Gym, spa, putting green, tennis and water sports. We played golf on a beautiful course (Avalon Golf Course), which was inclusive. They have 4 different restaurants, which are all very good. The Rum Shed is outstanding for grilled fish and meat!

Shanti Maurice was a delightful holiday for the whole family. We especially travelled there for authentic Ayurveda treatments in a child friendly surrounding. The therapists Athing, Buddah and Margaret did an exquisit job during the Ayurveda treatments and their authenticity of the treatments were outstanding. Dr. Avinash is applying a contemporary yet still traditional approach to Ayurveda. He is a hard working Doctor, who is dedicated to consult his clients, to live through and with Ayurveda a better and more balanced life.

Shanti Maurice is an incredible resort and spa. It is located in a wonderful, calm and really peaceful (“shanti”) environment in the south of Mauritius. This estate includes an excellent spa, an amazing outdoor tennis court, a wonderful beach and sea as well as delicious food in various restaurants. The beach-front pool villas are really unique. In addition, the butler Amal Mahendra was so courteous and read every wish from the eyes. A huge THANK to him and all the other amazing stuff in the entire resort! We are very looking forward to come back to Shanti Maurice Resort and Spa.

We travelled as a family of three (10 yr old) at the end of March/beginning of April 2024. It was part of a three hotel trip on different parts of the island. We stayed in a Junior Beachfront Suite for 6 nights which had direct access to the beach. It is located on the southern coast about 45 minutes from the airport and we had booked an airport transfer straight to the hotel. We did have some very cloudy and rainy weather whilst there which did make activities more challenging but overall didn't take away from the experience that much. The overall resort is very nice. It is in a more remote, green and nature heavy area of the island which we preferred. It is not far from some of the tourist attractions in the area and Le Morne which is only 30-40 minutes away. The room was nice and well decorated with fresh fruit and treats on arrival. The bathroom is large and our room had a nice outdoor shower as well - which i loved. The leisure, sports (and water sports), swimming pool areas are all good which good provisions for all the family. The dining experiences were very good, an excellent breakfast selection, with good A la Carte offerings as well as Buffet nights as well. We also had access to the Club Level experience which offered soft drinks and snacks from 11am onwards and beers and wines from 5pm onwards - which was very nice. All the staff were very friendly and were going the extra mile. Special mention to Lawrence who seemed to look after us more than most. The only two negatives which i think are easily resolved for the hotel management... 1) The swimming pool needed to be cleaned much more regularly. I appreciate the weather was windy and difficult to keep clean but it was very dirty and would have been solved with a pool vacuum over night or some people cleaning early morning. 2) The service in the main restaurant was very slow on some occasions. Again, nothing against the staff, just a little more training required. Great place, great people and we would definitely return.

The best vacations. Very nice and silent hotel. Very very nice and profesional staff. We have the best butler Amal. We was on vilas. Beach front. Very nice, clean and big ... The food was great. We eat just alla card. Breakfast are raut tables...

Leaving Shanti Maurice was truly one of the toughest goodbyes I’ve ever experienced. Those 10 days were without a doubt some of the most beautiful ones of my life! I wholeheartedly agree with the countless outstanding reviews. Situated in the peaceful and less touristy southern part of Mauritius, the resort offers spacious suites that are beautifully furnished, leaving nothing to be desired. But what truly makes this place extraordinary is its exceptional staff! From day one, their warmth and hospitality make you feel like you’re among friends. A special shoutout to the incredibly friendly and helpful reception staff, especially Manotra and Yashira, who were always available to assist with any inquiries and anticipated my every need. They even accommodated an early 9 am check-in after a long flight! Darshini, one of the guest service agents, is a true gem; effortlessly planning and organizing the most incredible day trips around Mauritius. Kudos to her for crafting the perfect island exploration experience! Sameel also deserves a mention here; he was an exceptional guide. The spa, rightly hailed as the best in the Indian Ocean, is an absolute must-visit. Treat yourself to a treatment here; Sheila’s expertise and magical touch will leave you feeling like you’re floating on air! A big shoutout also goes to the fantastic team at Rum Shed, who made every single evening unforgettable. Special thanks also to the General Manager Brice Péan, who personally took care of his guests every single day! Shanti Maurice surpassed all expectations – it truly feels like a home away from home! Thank you so much for this wonderful experience; I can’t wait to return.

We had a truly wonderful time at Shanti Maurice. Everything was first rate- the food, the pool villa and most of all the excellent service. Amal, our butler, was fantastic and made sure everything went to plan and helped us organise various special experiences (especially the Valentines dinner). Deepak who led the Yoga and wellbeing sessions was one of the best teachers we have had, and we have been motivated to introduce this into our daily routine back in London. Special thanks also to Ashwynna who led the restaurant team and Vishal from Rum shed, and of course all the chefs who went out of their way to make sure everything was well catered for.

We came to Shanti Maurice after a period of serious stress situations. The beautiful ambiance, the most delicious food and the extremly friendly staff made us feel welcomed and totally relaxed within the shortest period of time. The GM, Mr. Péan, leads this wonderful estate with great dedication and style. A great deal of our wellbeing during our stay we owed to the Shanti Spa. The consultation with Dr. Awinash MD, the Spa Manager, was both, extensive and eye-opening. Thanks to lovely therapist SHEILA we got introduced to Chakra Balancing treatments. Her extremly positive energy and her special efforts helped us to improve tremendously. A big THANK YOU to the whole team of Shanti Maurice for an exceptional and highly recovering time!!!!
