Such a perfect stay in one of the 2 cabins. There are also 2 rooms in the main building, meaning you have genuine peace as there are only a few guests present. Our private hot tub was superb, the room fresh and clean, the breakfast basket was delightful and our host was incredibly kind and helpful (shout out to Nyla and Nietzsche the friendly doggies) Perfect stay in beautiful surroundings.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful complex .. We were using this as a base to explore the region , but we honestly could have just passed our days here . It has a tranquil feel , a beautiful pool and gorgeous flowers , with butterflies fluttering around the lavender.. Our room was a generous size and we found the little kitchen area so handy , especially the fridge , coffee machine & kettle .. our host Christophe was very accommodating and welcoming along with his cute dogs . Breakfast was everything we needed and lovely to sit outside on our little private terrace .. We would happily recommend this to our friends and family ..

I partly want to 'gate-keep' this gem... but I won't be so selfish. This was the most perfect stay for some well needed rest and relaxation. The accommodation is modern, spacious and clean, we had the top floor apartment which had loads of space and a balcony. The grounds are picturesque and the pool would be fantastic (unfortunately we were unlucky with the weather). The breakfast basket every morning is a delightful treat- crossiants, bread, fruit and yoghurt all beautifully presented. The highlight of our stay was a meal cooked by the owner Christophe. We had perfectly cooked duck with a special bottle of paired wine from a local chateau- we liked it so much we visited the chateau to purchase 12 bottles. Christophe presented a cheese board with a thoughtful explanation of each cheese. Christophe is a fantastic host, he is attentive and warm company without being overbearing or invasive. He was always on hand for anything we needed and gave us great advice on places to visit. We very much enjoyed our time here - Sainte Alveres is a gorgeous village nearby with some great restaurants. We loved cruising the surrounding French countryside. If you get a chance to stay at Lion D'or, then I'm jealous - we are already planning our next stay! Tank you Christoph!

Great Stay in this Chambre D' hote Christophe is helpful and friendly and we were able to make full use of our stay in the Dordogne. An area we had often thought about visiting but had not We will certainly be back

This was a fabulous choice as a stop over on our Dordogne adventure.
Chris was there to welcome us and show us around the property, and even though we were a little early he invited us in to enjoy the facilities.
The room was quaint with lovely French decor, with all the modern facilities added to our experience. Great Wifi, air conditioning & a large shower were all a great bonus. As well as the fresh bed linen on the huge bed.
The breakfast was beautifully laid out on the terrace for us, which we wish we could have brought home with us.
Homemade yoghurt and asorted jams, croissants, pan au chocolat and lovely fresh coffee. The attention to detail was great.

The owners were incredibly helpful, and very friendly. The apartment was clean and perfectly serviced, with everything we could need. It is in a tranquil and quiet location, totally silent at night and really perfect for getting away from the world. Breakfast was delicious, as was the wine and sharing basket. I highly recommend

Fantastic getaway, the area is quiet and tranquil. Very relaxing long weekend spent in the well equipped log cabin. Hosts wonderful people, can't do enough for you. Looking forward to returning one day as also a great base to explore the surrounding countryside.
