Nice friendly pub. Staff were great especially the owner who is leaving soon to retire. Handy for the town and has good food choices.

Very last minute 2 night stay- Adele was so helpful in booking everything in over the phone . Frederico the manager couldn’t have been more helpful when we arrived- rooms were super comfortable and lots of character . We arrived just after kitchen closed but the chef went out of his way to make sure we had something to eat after a long drive which was much appreciated. Food was awesome . Great location - car park not for the faint hearted !! But we will Definitely be back

Excellent food (both dinner and breakfast). Very friendly and helpful staff. Despite being in a pub on a busy evening, all was quiet from about 10:30pm so got a great night’s sleep. Great location for station and university campus, both a short walk away.

Most appalling and upsetting visit!!! My friend was ejected for resting his eyes before eating. He had just lost his mum and been told they were discontinuing treatment for terminal cancer, so decided to go away for a few days, stopped here for a rest and food but was left embarrassed and devastated. This is supposed to be a public house, warm and friendly but sadly just a very rude landlady. Maybe a lesson needed in customer service or a change of occupation!!!!! Not all illnesses are visible, just maybe some people need to be around the warmth of life not pushed into an empty room alone

I don't normally leave reviews but this was worth a decent review. Booked late on the day of arrival & they were 100% ready for my arrival. My room was clean, modern, bed was comfortable & the shower was good. Food was superb (I'd definitely recommend the King Prawn & Crab linguine) & breakfast was equally as good. Most importantly the staff were so pleasant (apologies I didn't catch anyone's name). Next time I'm in the area this will be the first place I look for.
