The mattress was thin and lumpy. The sheets and comforter were not wide enough to cover the two people in the bed. The room was hot and you couldn't leave the window open because of the mosquitoes. The soap dispenser in the shower was nothing but water. There were no wash clothes in the bathroom. You had to walk across the street to another facility to check in and the return your keys. This means no staff at the building. Since the whole facility is John Wayne based they were nice enough to leave a DVD of the Quiet Man in the room. However it was so old and scratched it would not play. We stayed in the Feeny room. No food atbthe facility either. I would not recommend.

Stayed two nights. Good value for money. Room fine, a little musty, but fine for what we needed. The breakfast was 8 to 930 which is too short and the breakfast could be a tad higher standard than just scrambled egg with sausages or bacon but I must say the hosts were very friendly and the food tasted great.

What a great place! Marvelous value for money. You can't beat the location in Cong--walked to Ashford Castle grounds every morning, then into Cong and into Cong Woods. Gerry and Margaret are the cutest couple ever and serve a great breakfast. Shower, Wifi and beds were all super (my 3 most important things). Easy parking. Every review on *********** was correct--this place is a 10! Nostalgia for John Wayne and 1950s movie The Quiet Man made me feel young again as my mother loved that movie! Can't wait to go back

I arrived with a family member to stay in a 2 bed room (1 double 1 twin) but the receptionist “could not find the key” for the room so either they were lying or extremely disorganized. Either way, not a good sign and should have been my cue to leave. They then reassign us a room with only 1 double bed after I had paid for the other room. When I went back to the reception desk (which is across the road at the campsite, no one on staff at the actual B&B) the receptionist told me not to worry as the mistake was on them and she “thought” the rooms were the same price. She checks people in everyday and “thinks” she knows what the prices are? Yeah, not buying it. I had checked the website the night before and the room we stayed in was anywhere between €65-85 while the room I booked and paid for was €120. I KNEW they owed me at least €35 but judging by the whispers in the kitchen when I asked the ladies serving breakfast about it, I knew I was never going to see that. Just poor and shady business practices because after all, I’m not the one who “lost” the key to my own hotel. Word of advice, make Cong a day trip from Galway or Belfast, don’t stay there. There is no food or drink after 21:00 anywhere in town and the B&B itself has no affiliation to the movie besides a few reproduction actors’ chairs, some pictures and quotes written on the walls, and the dvd in each room. If you do have the misfortune of staying here, don’t worry about getting up for breakfast. Typical B&B bread and cereal. Nothing special. The only thing that did stand out about the place were the bathrooms. They were at least decent. And if the owner reads this, don’t worry about the money. You obviously need it more than I do. Cheers

We really enjoyed our stay at Michaeleen's Manor. Margaret and Gerry were gems and the rooms were lovely, pristine and decorated in a Quiet Man theme. I loved the quotes from the Quiet Man film hung throughout the Manor and took pictures of many of them. Breakfast was fabulous and we enjoyed a lively funny conversation with Gerry in the bright sunny breakfast room. The gardens surrounding the manor are beautiful! The staff was very helpful and friendly and gave us good tips on what to see in Cong, The Quiet Man Museum, Pat Cohan's, Cong Abbey, Ashford Castle and the beautiful lake surrounding the castle. We ate in town at the Crow's Nest and the food was great and the atmosphere lively. We wished we could have stayed longer, and if we have the good fortune to travel to Ireland again, we will definitely stay with Margaret and Gerry again. Thank you for a wonderful time for my husband and I in your exceptional B&B!

Lovely comfortable B&B near to just about everything but still a little rural. Hosts Gerry and Margaret are marvelous, so friendly and they’ll take care of you very well. Take the Quiet Man tour with Gerry- you won’t regret it! He is a font of knowledge of the area and its history and is so personable with the guests-super easy to chat with. Margaret’s delicious full Irish breakfasts are a must-have! We hated to leave and wish to return soon! Barbara says Hello!

I was surprised that when arriving at Michaeleens there was a note to check in across the street. Once we did, we were given a key and let ourselves in. Upon arrival to the room, we were pleased with the cleanliness. The room was small, with the full bed taking up almost the entire room. The bathroom appears enormous when compared to the room. It is quite spartan in design, but it was for one night and was clean. The website states it has toiletries but there was a unmarked soap wall dispenser by the sink and another unmarked dispenser in the shower. Again, very Spartan. The floors are laminate and the acoustics are terrible. It seems every sound is magnified. This includes everyones toilet flushes, showers, and door openings/closings.This doesn’t seem important until it’s one in the morning and the drunken guests from Ashford Castle events, as well as event arrangers and caterers begin to arrive. Our room was in the front on the first floor. Everyone that arrived between 1 & 2 AM went to the second floor. Dragging luggage and ? Event equipment. After a room for four people took six showers - they then went back outside the front door to smoke and chat - right outside our room. No security and front door and probably other entrances unlocked. We packed up quickly at daylight and were happy to leave without breakfast. We were so disgusted that we couldn’t eat anyway. We needed SLEEP. If you don’t, this place might work well for you.

We stayed one night while visiting Cong for the Quiet Man atmosphere and memorabilia. The room was quite comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Just a short drive to Cong and some high quality restaurants. Will stay again.

We spent one night at the B&B. The staff were very friendly. The room was large, clean and quiet. Unfortunately, the WIFI did not work. The breakfast was good. The reception is in the building across the street. It is a few minutes by car to Cong.
