I arrived with a family member to stay in a 2 bed room (1 double 1 twin) but the receptionist “could not find the key” for the room so either they were lying or extremely disorganized. Either way, not a good sign and should have been my cue to leave. They then reassign us a room with only 1 double bed after I had paid for the other room. When I went back to the reception desk (which is across the road at the campsite, no one on staff at the actual B&B) the receptionist told me not to worry as the mistake was on them and she “thought” the rooms were the same price. She checks people in everyday and “thinks” she knows what the prices are? Yeah, not buying it. I had checked the website the night before and the room we stayed in was anywhere between €65-85 while the room I booked and paid for was €120. I KNEW they owed me at least €35 but judging by the whispers in the kitchen when I asked the ladies serving breakfast about it, I knew I was never going to see that. Just poor and shady business practices because after all, I’m not the one who “lost” the key to my own hotel. Word of advice, make Cong a day trip from Galway or Belfast, don’t stay there. There is no food or drink after 21:00 anywhere in town and the B&B itself has no affiliation to the movie besides a few reproduction actors’ chairs, some pictures and quotes written on the walls, and the dvd in each room. If you do have the misfortune of staying here, don’t worry about getting up for breakfast. Typical B&B bread and cereal. Nothing special. The only thing that did stand out about the place were the bathrooms. They were at least decent. And if the owner reads this, don’t worry about the money. You obviously need it more than I do. Cheers
