*Brogans of Trim Review* . Date of Stay:17-03-2024. Cost: €165.60 Room Only. My wife and I stayed in Brogans of Trim for one night. We checked into our room around 4 pm. A nice clean room with a very comfortable bed. We decided to go for dinner in the restaurant from a simple menu which we both decided to order the chicken curry from. The menu stated that vegetable curry or chicken curry was €17.00, rice and chips were included, and you could “add chicken to your chicken curry for another €3.50”. It was €41.00 for 2 chicken curry’s which seemed quite expensive. Although a small portion it was quite nice. After dinner, we had a walk around Trim where the atmosphere was buzzing with people enjoying the St Patrick’s Day celebrations. We decided to make our way back to our room No:9, which is located in the courtyard. This area is actually a large beer garden with a covered in area with a television and speakers located throughout. There are tables and benches immediately outside the doors and windows of the courtyard rooms which means it quiet noisy Some people were standing smoking outside the doorway of our room, and when we entered the room, unfortunatley the smoke followed us. We approached reception, which was unmanned, I then went into the hall area were I met the lady who checked us in, I asked if there might be a room available that would be a bit quieter that myself and my wife just wanted to relax. The lady replied “You picked the wrong day to come if you want to relax.” She told me to wait in reception and she will check to see if there is something more suitable. A few minutes later another lady came to reception and told us “that it says on the website that there could be noise” and “that no matter were we go today is going to be the same” I disagreed with this and the lady then suggested that we try room No: 12 as it was upstairs or "I can move them away from your door" which was a strange suggestion as it would leave my wife and I open to being met with annoyance. We decided to have a look at room No 12 and made our way to the door of room 12, where we had to ask a gentleman to move his stool so we could access the door. On inspection of the room, it was exactly the same noise, but it was a much smaller room / bed and bathroom. We decided to stay in room No:9, and again had to ask the gentleman to move his stool so we could get back out the door of room No:12. We dropped the key card for room No:12 back to an unmanned reception. We went to the room to watch some Television and within minutes some young children began to play immediately outside the door, there was a venetian type blind on the window of the door and it is totally inadequate as the children were peering into the room to us. We decided to go for a walk and return later when hopefully the children were home in their beds. When we returned, the place was in great spirits, and we sat and enjoyed the atmosphere for a bit. At 9 p.m., we decided to retire
