The positives about the Hoorn Van Der Valk is that the rooms are clean, warm, comfortable. There is a large shower and bathroom. Kettle and glasses and cups. Unfortunately there were a lot of negatives such as a very rude 'welcoming' by the reception staff upon arrival. The staff told us that the restaurant was fully booked and there was no room service available. It was a Saturday night and we had just travelled from Australia and there was literally nothing else around close to the hotel. They did not provide any other options for us. The lobby was very noisy and overcrowded with a lot of focus on the bar and the ****** seemingly taking priority over staying guests. There is no under cover parking so you have to park in the large carpark and bring your luggage across in the rain and the dark, there was no offer to help or suggest that we could park closer to unpack our luggage. It was a very disappointing stay indeed as we have stayed in Van Der Valk's previously and were expecting the same welcome and attention to service. Overall, a disappointing stay.

When arriving at the hotel it is somewhat underwhelming with the ****** and cinema! However once you enter the elegant reception you are immersed in a sumptuous experience. The room we had on 10th floor had a fabulous view and was very spacious. The space was immaculately clean. Bathroom was modern, lean and roomy. Breakfast at €20ph is pricey but WOW the choice and yes we had a sneaky glass of fizz. The pool area is lovely but the windows need a good clean! Staff are helpful and friendly making the experience really good.

I stayed here for a few nights on a work trip. The hotel was very nice and I was throughly impressed. Check in was easy, the rooms were large and spotless, the food in the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was amazing, there was so much selection. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel

I had a superior room for my stay. The room and bathroom were massive. The shower was lush and the water pressure and temperature were great. The bed was so soft it felt like a water bed... which I loved but know not everyone would. I really enjoyed my stay. Staff were phenomenal, Sybrina, Tiffany and Marlies.... they all were super supportive, from responding to my emails right away, to making suggestions and assigning me the accessible room. I'm glad I came. The only disappointment was the very low quality toilet paper... single ply and it just sticks, disintegrates or rolls... very shoddy.

I had a wonderful experience at Hotel Hoorn this evening in Toos à la carte restaurant. The staff especially my server Suus was very friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. Her English is to a very good standard.
