In the old city, parking is inconvenient, and it is inconvenient to drive yourself. There is no elevator, there is electric heating, and the shower station is very narrow in the bathtub. Dar El Medina is such a special place — full of history and right in the middle of the Old Medina. My room had that traditional Tunisian style I love, and the rooftop terrace has an incredible view over the city. Breakfast was amazing. It’s not a buffet, but a big sit-down meal that was so good (and so much food) I usually skipped lunch after. The Wi-Fi worked great and the shower had strong water pressure — not something you can always count on in older buildings. What really made my stay though was the people. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. When I lost my passport, they helped me make calls, talk to the right offices, and get everything sorted. The breakfast staff were always smiling and just genuinely nice every morning. If you’re visiting Tunis, I’d definitely recommend staying here. It’s comfortable, beautiful, and run by people who really care.

Staff was very helpful, they all spoke English very well too which was convenient. The place is very nice, well maintained, and easy to get around/to the Medina market. We had dinner at the roof top restaurant and the food was delicious.

Memorable wonderful stay in a most unique, quiet and safe property in the historic Medina. Perfect for adventurous travelers, not the Marriott crowd. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff made the stay simply wonderful. Highly recommend having dinner at the rooftop restaurant as well, and coordinate airport transfer with the hotel to avoid airport taxis. Enjoy the Medina!
