The Castel Saint-Leonard is a wonderful hotel, full of character and charm. Charles was a great host and made sure that nothing was left wanting during our stay in his glorious house. The room was large, the bed was large, the bathroom was large, and it felt very comfortable during our 3 night stay. Breakfasts were very good, with fruit, a (large) croissant, cheese, as well as other delights from what we assume is a local boulangerie. The location is very close to the centre of Falaise, with the castle, the Automaton Museum and many fine restaurants within easy walking distance. Highly recommended.

We had a warm welcome from Charles who showed us around the beautiful building and told us about the history, he was also very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and local attractions. We stayed for two night in the Suite de La Rotonde which was amazing. Our suite was so comfortable, tastefully decorated and with a modern bathroom. There is secure off street parking if you have a car. Breakfast each morning was fabulous, served by Charles in the dining room which set us up for the day. Falaise has a lot of history to discover including William the Conquerers Castle but it is also close to Bayeux and the Normandy Coast which I would recommend visiting. I would definitely recommend staying here, we really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect! Excellent location. Falaise is a great place to stay while visiting the D-Day beaches (you don’t have to content with the crowds there). In addition, William The Conqueror’s castle is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Castel Saint-Leonard is the place to stay. Charles was accommodating, helpful with restaurant recommendations and a perfect host. Our room, the Suite de la Rotonde was amazing, adorable, comfortable all at the same time! Our room was extremely quiet and the view from the room were wonderful. Parking is a breeze and right there.

An excellent stay. Why would you go anywhere else within a 20 mile radius of Falaise? A beautiful house, tastefully and lovingly furnished. The owner and host, Charles, was very welcoming and informative. We wished we could have stayed longer, but we were on our bicycles and had to get on. Maybe next time.

Charles bought this house to accommodate his huge collection of antiques and every room is decorated so as to show them off in the best light. The result is not like being in a museum though, rather being privileged to experience a gracious lifestyle now sadly disappeared. He is a delightful host, nothing is too much trouble. The Suite de la Rotonde is a magnificent room with splendid furnishings and views to the castle. The house is situated in a quiet street a couple of minutes from the centre of town and the parking is in a private courtyard at the front. Charles booked 2 restaurants for us, Le Jardin - a simple small establishment with good food and Ô Saveurs - a gourmet experience and the best meal we had during this trip to Normandy. If you are in the area of Falaise (which is well worth a visit) I recommend saying at Castel Saint-Léonard.

This place was absolutely outstanding! As you enter this palace, the owner, Michael, makes you feel like Royalty. The structure of the building was actually part of the medieval walls built in the middle ages. The decor is like being in a museum. And the breakfast is as authentic as you will get in France. We were very spoilt! William the Conqueror's castle, is a short walk up the street and definitely worth a visit.

A fantastic authentic experience, I felt like I had been taken to another time (with modern luxuries!) Michael was the perfect host who showed us round his lovingly restored Castel. Welcomed from the start the place oozes of 18th century elegance. The overnight stay did not disappoint. Well worth a visit. In the town a fantastic restaurant and we visited the Castle which again was an excellent experience. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
