I visited this place for the second time, this week. It was as awesome as I had remembered from my last stay about 18 months ago. Mik is an awesome host, nothing was too much to ask. Stayed in the Pelican cabin. It was so relaxing, that I really didn't want to leave ... will most definitely be back!!!

Mik was a wonderful host providing absolutely everything you need to mold a comfortable stay. We stayed on the Wren cabin which was modern, well heated and clean. We greatly appreciated a tour of the native gardens and property upon arrival, wine, chocolate and vouchers to spend in Meningie. We enjoyed cycling and kayaking and walking around and spending time among the birds on the property. Clear your diaries and make a booking! We will return again in another season.

We stayed in Pelican Cabin for two nights and wished we had stayed longer. The cabin is beautifully set up, surrounded by bushes and birds, with comfy furniture and everything you could possibly need including some food supplies, spare hats, games for young and old, and books of information about the area. There has been such a lot of thought and care put into these cabins and the land they're on. Mik and Sue came to meet us soon after arrival and showed us around including the vegie garden and the chooks. It was lovely to chat with them and hear how Mik has developed the location over the past decade. We'd love to go back.

Mik has created the most incredible retreat with everything one could need for an amazing stay! We spent two days in the beautiful Pelican cabin with four adults and a two-year-old. There is also a smaller cabin on the grounds. The cabin was light, airy, comfortable and spacious! It was the BEST place we visited in all of our Australia trip! Maybe the best beach cabin we have ever seen! Every time we wanted something, it was right there! Mik has done a great job of designing, building and equipping the cabins and grounds with anything you could need on your visit! Books, CDs and DVDs in the cabin for entertainment.in the evening once you have your fill of looking at the stars. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and there was even a loaf of fresh bread with jams and fresh figs that Mik picked for us. We could also pick veggies and herbs in the garden for cooking! There was a variety of food, condiments and drinks along with all of the dishes, pots, pans, and utensils! Besides the kitchen inside, there is a wonderful outside kitchen with a huge grill, counters, and a big table. The cabin has a truly luxurious bathroom and very comfortable bedrooms which have travel crib, folding chairs and hammocks in the closets. The grounds are so spacious and again have something for everyone. The toddler loved the trampoline and there were kayaks, bikes, and other entertainment. He has a bench set up out by the water to watch the sunset. Mik has planted a wonderful natural garden of beautiful native plants which attracts so many birds. As a birder I was out early to capture photos of the singing birds ana saw many I did not see elsewhere. I cannot say enough good things about the Coorong Cabins. Mik did such a great job designing and building this awesome place and he hosts with the same attention to detail so that it feels truly magical. Plan to spend several days here to enjoy! We had two and it was not enough! Mik told us good places to find birds, emus, and kangaroos and we saw them all! The Coorong is a quiet, peaceful place to refresh your soul. There are also two places to eat which serve good food! It is the perfect distance from Adelaide for a weekend and for travelers on the great ocean road!

What an absolute surprise, these cabins are lovely. Mik has supplied everything you can think of and some things you wouldn't even think of. Nothing is too much trouble, from meeting you on arrival, giving you a tour and supplying beautiful fresh bread. There is a games room, kayaks, bikes, fishing gear, BBQ area, vegie garden, chooks, lovely native gardens and a huge array of birds. We went for a drive along the coorong and narrung peninsula and even had coffee in Meningie. We will definitely be back when we have more time. Did I mention the amazing bread 😆 Thank you Mik

Absolutely amazing place! The cabin was beautifully presented and had absolutely everything we needed - and plenty of things we didn't even know we needed. So great. The grounds are gorgeous - beautiful Aussie bush gardens plus veggie patch and chook shed. We enjoyed kayaking with everything included and played in the games room and stayed super cosy with plenty of fire wood supplied. Mik was the perfect host - greeted us and showed us around, answered any queries (including providing spices that we'd forgotten to pack - thanks Mik!) and gave us the run of the place but also respected our privacy and left us alone. 100% would stay again.

We had the absolute best time at Coorong Cabins. We stayed in the Wren cabin and it had everything we needed. The owner and host was so generous and he's really created something amazing that you can tell he's proud of. During our welcome tour, we walked past some mulberry bushes that hadn't fruited and mentioned we liked mulberries, the next day he delivered hand picked wild mulberries he'd found for us! Truly above and beyond. The location was beautiful, nestled in between a beautiful native garden we were able to make time for bird watching, bee spotting and reading. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets with a bottle of complimentary wine for company and started off our mornings with great coffee and complimentary freshly baked bread. Our meals were accompanied with spoils from the garden and if the wind was kinder there were kayaks set aside for us to take exploring. There were too many amenities for us to use in our three night stay so we'll have to go back!

Wonderful cottages. We stayed in Pelican cottage. Fully equipped and comfortable furniture. The native gardens are delightful and full of birds. We had access to the vege patch, kayaks , games room and BBQ area. Mik was a lovely host. Available if you needed him but discrete. Its great that he has built these cabins sustainably and has a good focus on environmental friendly practices. There were lots of pelicans and other birdlife on the lagoon over the road. Very peaceful and relaxing environment.

Luxury accommodation for a couple in the Wren cabin. Amazing attention to detail by owner including personal greeting & tour of facilities. Freshly baked sour dough bread, jams, milk plus all cooking basics. Apart from the exceptionally clean & provisioned cabin, the native gardens are praiseworthy. A fully equipped laundry is available for use. Did I mention the espresso coffee machine along with ground coffee & fresh milk is provided?
