Excellent stay! Extremely lovely staff all very friendly and helpful. Especially wanted to say big thanks to Maria, Fernando and Juan. Will miss you a lot. You made my stay. ) I must admit the food was amazing top class, some 5 star hotels are not even near that level. So tasty! Comfortable bed, tidy rooms. Perfect location close by all amenities.

Property is located in Cala Galdan which has few beaches around however they all are at 30/40 min walk at least, recommend having a car. Property was good overall and the staff very welcoming. Could do better on communication, waited for a call/text when the room was ready for the check in, never got it

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Beautifully decorated with a very modern design at an affordable price. We where greeted by a really friendly member of staff who let us store our suitcases as we had arrived quite early. She told us everything we needed to know. Our room was clean & tidy, with the basics needed to cook. The beds where so comfy but only had 1 pillow. We asked and got another straight away. We found our room to be really peaceful with a nice balcony. I’m not sure if this would be the case in busier months but we loved the PEACE! The breakfasts had a huge selection. absolutely delicious fresh fruit, meats, cheeses pastries, eggs, bacon everything for either a light of big breakfast. My only advise would be if you are not so mobile ask for a ground floor apartment and have a car. The hotel is located up quite a big hill. Hence the title “A hidden gem!” I will definitely be returning to this lovely hotel/apartments.

The hotel looks impressive in the photos and when you first arrive, but then you start to see the little details that can make your vacation less enjoyable, especially if you are not traveling with kids. The hotel has every day loud activities for kids. unless you are located in the far away parts of the hotel. We were told that towels can be changed every 4 days (!) only, and we should put them to dry instead. Some of the rooms are for people with disabilities, but compared to other rooms, the amenities are old and less maintained. The distance from the beach is noticable (10-15 minutes), but the area is nice and quiet.

We've just spent a great 7 nights at the Ilunion Hotel. From the moment we arrived we felt at home - very friendly staff, spotless rooms, AMAZING food (breakfast and dinner buffet), and beautiful setting. The hotel is up a steep hill, about 5 minutes from the gorgeous white sand beach of Cala Galdana. Recommend hiring a car if you find walking difficult. Every meal we ate at the hotel was fantastic - huge selection, plentiful, fresh and tasty. The pool was a little cold but refreshing - and there were always enough beds and loungers available. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, with a little kitchenette, lovely hot showers and comfy beds. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and the evening entertainment was great fun. The beach was delightful with white sand and clear warm sea, and pedalos, SUPs, and kayaks if you got bored. Other than restaurants there isn't much to do in Cala Galdana itself but the two main towns - Mahon and Cuitadella - are beautiful and interesting, full of lovely shops, restaurants and buildings. First time in Menorca and hopefully not the last!

This hotel hasn’t disappointed us in any way and we are on our third day here. The highlight of the stay must be the food; delicious, always warm and replenished regularly by the chef, the swimming pool and an easy access to an amazing beach at Cala Galdana. The premises are very well kept and all the staff, including the cleaning staff, are very helpful and very approachable. This extends to the kids club, who are so patient with my autistic daughter, and never made us feel uneasy. The two of them filled out the stage sufficiently and treated us to a fun kids disco and a bingo show during the last night’s show and we are invited to the Zumba and a pool disco later on today. The decor of the hotel lounge and a restaurant are simply stunning and make your dining experience even better. We have never struggled with getting the sun beds at the pool side and the pool is clean and very well maintained. The manager is seen on a regular basis helping the staff with e.g. ensuring all the guests had the sun parasols when it became too hot at the pool side or at meal times. This hotel is a lovely option if you prefer less crowded facility with more intimate entertainment but an excellent food. The only improvement required would be to the one of the rooms we stayed in, which had some slight water markings and unkept back garden, but we understand that Spain experienced a lot of rainfall in June and not all of the rooms had been yet restored. On this note my daughter’s bedroom is in a perfect condition and they are very pleased with it. We are returning next year for sure.

Nice decor - food stone cold and not enough staff to clear tables resulting in delays. Broken toilet and no sensible place to hang towels. Either dangle on bin or toilet..............................................

Just returned from 6 days here. Cala Galdana is a beautiful area with shops, water sports and restaurants scattered amongst roads leading to a stunning cove beach and harbour. The hotel is clean, friendly and well positioned overlooking a beautiful forest towards the ocean. The apartments are white-washed and set in lovely surroundings with a chill-out zone to play pool and relax. Beach beds and sun loungers are available but there are not enough during busy times of the day. We would have scored this place higher but unfortunately the hotel doesn’t quite hit the spot in various areas. It is definitely only 3-4 star so do not go expecting 4-5. When we arrived our room wasn’t ready and we were left to our own devices for 2 hours with limited communication and guidance about next steps. When we did check in our receptionist was a trainee (working alone) who gave us only limited information. I spoke to an alternative member of staff later on in the evening who welcomed us promptly and answered the questions we had. Rooms are very basic and in need of updating but communal areas are fresh, modern and clean. Housekeeping is carried out daily and on demand. Beach towels are provided on arrival. Half board was a good option for us with a buffet breakfast and dinner however the evening meal wasn’t always hot or to our taste. Breakfast was varied and delicious with plenty of pastries, bread, cereal etc to choose from. Coffee options were limited with only one machine in working order. Entertainment staff and the lifeguard work very hard indeed although the kids mini disco took over the pool area late into the evening and sporadically during the day. There was a magic act and a saxophone player, during our stay, which was nice to watch. The vibe here is relaxed and friendly. This is a good no-frills base to explore Menorca and we would return again.

The illunion is minimal & effortless. Great facilities & rooms. No major complaints. Only to put out ketchup at breakfast & give the pool grates a good clean. Rooms very comfy & clean. The location is fab, close to restaurants & beach.
