Very nice experience sleeping in modern rooms/bungalows smack in the middle of the Douro vineyards. Wonderful comfortable rooms with Rituals amenities (shampoo, shower gel and hand wash). We stayed in the suites and they had a lovely living room with a gorgeous view. All units are air conditioned and have complimentary water bottles. Living room have a comfy sofa bed which was perfect for our 5 & 10 years old. The only downside is there are no blinders or blackout curtains in the living area. So while the rooms are totally blacked out the kids sleeping in the living area were awake quite early with full sun shining from 6am onwards. Kids paid no extra, but I had preferred to pay the extra and have a living room fully functional to sleep. The pool is an eco pool with water sourced from a natural spring so it’s naturally renovating without the use of filters or harsh chemicals (only a couple of disinfectant tabs). With an amazing view and a great area for a swim or just chilling. It’s not big, but it was never crowded in the week we spent there. Delicious and home made breakfast buffet style with variety of breads, croissants, cake, charcuterie, eggs, jams, yogurts and sliced fruits. Freshly filtered coffee made every morning or you could choose for the espresso coffee machine. Only almond milk available, would have been nice to have some non-dairy yogurt available too. Dinner is possible upon reservation with a variety of dishes ranging from meat, fish to vegetarian/vegan options. All deliciously cooked to perfection. We simply loved having dinner here. (Even more than in the restaurant Quinta da Pacheca from the same group). Food is also available for lunch upon reservation (with a different menu, with more light snacks and ‘pool food’). Staff is amazing, everyone is friendly and helpful. And we couldn’t have been better hosted. Régua and other small villages are at a short driving distance (15-30min). You can find some good restaurants around, but I recommend you book it before you go to avoid disappointments. I definitely recommend this charming accommodation in the mist of nature. It’s a gem.
