We stayed three nights. The location is beautiful. The hotel is next to a lake. It is about 3-4km to walk round the lake, and there is small place where canoes and pedalos can be hired. The hotel has a small swimming pool, which we much enjoyed swimming in, even though it was unheated at the time we used it. The grounds of the hotel are well maintained and we had lunch on the terrace. The food (we had a lunch and a dinner whilst there) is excellent. We have given a 4 rather than 5 star review as, unusually in our experience of French hotels, it was necessary to indicate whether you wanted a (singular) croissant, pain au chocolate or raisin, the night before. You do need transport if you want to visit nearby towns, and we were fortunate in having a friend who had driven there. The local taxi services, based on getting to the hotel from the nearest railway station, and from talking with locals, seems good- even if, worryingly - they are sometimes described as 'ambulances'. The hotel also have a number of bicycles available, though we did not try this. We would stay again.

Beautiful location, excellent friendly staff and customer service. However, the website promised several menu options, as well as the full à la carte choice. Essentially we were offered a single menu du jour, the food was very good but where were all the website menus, or the à la carte.

Much better management oversight of how this hotel operates is required if is to be somewhere where I would stay again. The room I was shown to had not been cleaned properly. Dust could be seen on all of the flat surfaces (you could write your name in it, it was that thick in places) and I couldn't put any of my clothes on the wardrobe shelves or coat hangers. In addition, there was black & red mould around the bath taps and shower screen areas. When I spoke to reception desk staff, I was offered another room. However this was in just the same unclean condition, I stayed where I was and cleaned the dust off myself! These are issues that should not be happening in any hotel, irrespective of the price it charges for its rooms and can easily be addressed if the hotel management walked around the property from time to time and check things over. This is obviously not happening here. No mention of these matters was made at check-our and no apologies on behalf of the management were proffered. Oh boy!!!!....never again.

We stayed one night as a stopover on our way to our destination. The hotel is a little off the beaten track but worth the journey. It is well presented in a pretty location by the lake. There are activities to keep most occupied if you want to stay longer. The room was clean and bright, the restaurant exceptional and the service was very good. We have changed our stopover on the way home to stay here again.

Enigszins tegenvallend: We kwamen op zondagmiddag aan na een lange autorit. Omdat we 's middags al geluncht hadden, wilden we als diner één (hoofd)gerecht. Echter dat was niet mogelijk: we moesten verplicht het menu nemen van een voor-, hoofd- en nagerecht voor € 53,-. De ober was onverbiddelijk! Na enig soebatten bij een andere ober konden we i.p.v. het nagerecht koffie krijgen. Op de dag van vertrek na 3 nachten stond de koffie toch apart op de rekening, die na onze reclamering er wel van af werd gehaald. Al met al niet zo'n beste zaak, ook omdat er in de directe omgeving geen alternatieve horeca is en vooral ook omdat verderop in de week wel à la carte gegeten kon worden. Het gevolg van dit alles was, dat wij in het hotel alleen maar beperkt hebben tot het slapen en daar niet ontbeten en niet meer gegeten hebben.

L'établissement le Gué de Selle est un lieu splendide, nous venons d'y passer deux jours à l'occasion de notre mariage. Cet hôtel est plein de charme, les jardins sont magnifiques et impeccablement entretenus. L'accueil y est chaleureux et très professionnel. La propriétaire a été très à l'écoute de nos attentes, un grand merci à elle. La cuisine est très raffinée, des mets succulents (avis partagé par l'ensemble de nos convives), le chef et son équipe sont très talentueux. Le service à été irréprochable, avec en particulier Bruno, notre maître d'hôtel qui a été un véritable chef d'orchestre durant ces deux jours, un grand merci à lui. Nous recommandons vivement cet établissement pour l'organisation de moments d'exception !

Une expérience exceptionnelle du début à la fin. Nous avons été accueillis avec gentillesse par la responsable de l'établissement. L’hôtel est plein de charme, paisible, avec des chambres confortables et impeccablement tenues. Le restaurant: une cuisine raffinée, créative et pleine de saveurs, qui met à l’honneur les produits de saison et du terroir. Chaque plat est une œuvre d’art, aussi belle que délicieuse. Le service est digne des grandes maisons : discret, attentionné et professionnel. Un grand bravo au chef et à toute l’équipe pour cette belle parenthèse gourmande. Une adresse à ne surtout pas manquer. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter.
