My partner and I spent five nights at Zemi Miches, and we wanted to share an honest and detailed review of our experience. Location & Transportation The resort is about an hour and a half from Punta Cana International Airport. For context, we are from the Dominican Republic, and after doing some research, we found that transportation from the airport typically costs between $140–$160 USD one way. While the resort does not directly provide transfers, they do recommend a third-party company. Instead of booking with them, we decided to rent a car for the duration of our stay. It’s important to note that although the resort markets itself as being in Punta Cana, it is actually located in Miches. This means you are more than an hour’s drive from the main Punta Cana resort ***** and nightlife spots like Coco Bongo. Driving during the day is manageable, but I would strongly caution against driving at night if you are unfamiliar with the roads, as there is very little street lighting and some dangerous curves. Atmosphere & Entertainment The overall vibe of the resort is very calm and laid-back. If you are looking for a lively, party-style resort with constant activities and music, this may not be the right choice for you. However, if you are seeking peace, quiet, and a relaxing environment, Zemi Miches delivers beautifully. Music throughout the property is intentionally soft and minimal, even at the pool. At most, music might play for 30–60 minutes before it stops, reinforcing the resort’s serene atmosphere. While this seems to be the vision of the resort’s management, the entertainment team, especially Anderson (“Mr. Chocolate”) and Keily, worked hard to bring energy to the experience and truly went above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Staff & Service One of the strongest highlights of our stay was the exceptional staff: Bartenders: Sandy & Johanny at the lobby bar consistently ensured our drinks were perfect, always willing to adjust with a smile. Danny & Daniel at the pool bar were equally fantastic, delighting both adults and children alike with their cheerful service and signature drinks. Servers: George, who we saw both at the Guácete food hall and Manicato (Italian), deserves special recognition. No matter how long his shift, he greeted us with warmth and attentiveness. Restaurant Service: Jensy at Boba (Thai) and Toa (Dominican) treated us like royalty. His constant attention and genuine hospitality made both dining experiences memorable. Management: Socrates, manager at the sports bar Serra, always seemed to check on us no matter where we were, ensuring we felt taken care of. His attention to detail left a lasting impression. The genuine hospitality of the staff elevated our entire experience and deserves the highest praise. When I tell you this is a hidden treasure in the Dominican, it’s not close to the airport, so expect a nice relaxing hour and a half drive … which by the way our driver was pleasant, the van was cool and clean, transportation was arranged by the hotel for an extra fee ( but round trip) so don’t panic about the price! Upon arrival we were greeted with a cool towel and friendly, beautiful hotel staff The hotel entrance was grand, luxurious, elegant and inviting!!! The decor is amazing, the smell was heavenly ( I believe a special scent created just for Zemi Miches) Check in was smooth and friendly… no line/ no wait… after check in we were given a quick tour of the main areas lobby bar, restaurants, pools etc. then we were driven to our room via golf cart … our room was in Casa 3 w/ the plunge pool and tropical view. Upon entry the room was beautiful, the decor and space was thoughtfully executed (immediately felt like home away from home) The only thing I didn’t like was that I could never get out TV to stay in English when I was watching it, the smell at night was at times unbearably unpleasant, possibly due to ongoing construction on that end of the hotel but only during the night and not constantly. If you’re scared of bugs or FROGS beware of them as you walk the path to your room at night!!! Ty vibes were nice through your the property, service was excellent, drinks were plentiful ALL DAY! the food options were just okay for me. However, I really enjoyed the buffet for breakfast, Yuca for lunch and dinner, Batey’s for ice cream and the sports bar was a nice place with a great vibe to get away enjoy some eats, some pool or air hockey and of course catch our favorite Teams!!! The entertainment was really cool… I enjoyed soap making, karaoke in the main lobby, silent disco, live band w/ dancers, the saxophonist was AMAZING and the circus entertainment was an absolute treat… I wish there was more night life on site like a club with a live DJ… This Hotel is very family friendly, couple friendly with a lot of cozy areas to relax, soak up the sun or be in the sun!!! Shout out to some of my AMAZING FAVORITE HOTEL STAFF: Donar- very friendly, handsome, helpful, knowledgeable of the property and very patient, delightful Mr. Chocolate aka the vibe!!!- Part of the entertainment team, full of energy, very hospitable, inclusive of everyone! And a great dancer, absolutely loved his energy!!! Eulogio- very professional, very attentive had the best food recommendations for all of the restaurants ( and you can bet money on his pallet!!!) He made sure we always had the best seat in the restaurant and just overall exceptional quality of service! Socrates— manages the sports bar, he creates a great atmosphere for ongoing entertainment, he extremely pleasant, professional and wants to make sure that everyone is happy and well… Adolfo— he was in a few different areas but I met him in the sports bar, he was our server, he was very courteous, attentive and helped me
