Apartments Villa Mirjana

My husband and I booked 3 nights here at the end of August. The accommodation appeared to be stunning, clean, modern etc. After the first night we woke up with numerous bites. These continued to get worst over the next couple of nights. We were then moving on to our next accommodation but the bites were so bad en route to the next accommodation we ended up at the hospital at which point the Dr told us they were bedbug bites. She was absolutely adamant this was the case although foolishly we didn't ask her to write that on the receipt that she wrote us. As you can imagine we were horrified. After both receiving injections which were to help with the bites we went on to our next accommodation. We contacted *********** to let them know at which point they said they were taking it very seriously and would investigate. We decided to shelve it till we got home so that we didn't ruin the remainder of our holiday. I would also like to point out that I had had to clean cat excrement off our terrace and also witnessed their large family dog cooling off in the pool. I, myself have a dog but I would never want to swim with it in a pool. When I said it appeared to be clean this was clearly not the case. *********** contacted the accommodation and they obviously said they didn't have bedbugs. That was that then. Clearly the Dr was wrong. We are in the process of trying to get confirmation from the Dr that this was the case. Incidentally one of my blisters was so bad it had to be popped and once home the leg was actually infected. I ended up off work on antibiotics with a serious infection. *********** have told us to take it up with the accommodation and the accommodation are denying anything is wrong. Our holiday was ruined. Please don't stay at this accommodation even though it appears to be lovely - it's clearly not and please don't expect *********** to help if you have an issue.

Our apartment at Villa Mirjana gave us possibly the best view we have had from a holiday rental. Our spacious veranda looked out over the bay with a stunning view across to Srebreno harbour. The room was spacious with a comfortable large bed, small kitchen area with a huge refrigerator. The bathroom was very good with an excellent shower. French doors led out to a large veranda with coffee table, chairs and two deck chairs. You need to be aware that there are a minimum of 30 steps to reach the apartments and the owner does have two friendly dogs and quite a few cats that roam the property. This was not a problem for us but could be for others.

I have just returned from a wonderful weekend in Croatia and my stay at Villa Mirjana helped made the experience wonderful. Now, first impressions wasn't what I was expecting. We got a cab from the Dubrovnik airport (don't make the same mistake as me and get a cab from inside the airport. We were charged 40 Euro and we found out an Uber is 15 Euro) and were greeted with a construction site next door, where they seem to be building a new hotel/villa. We were then met by the owners mum, who was an elderly lady who had trouble communicating (she was very sweet). We arrived at midday, 4 hours too early, so we were hoping to drop our bags and go out to enjoy the beautiful weather. Luckily the room was ready and they gave us the keys, very nice of them! There are a lot of steps from the entrance to all the rooms, so not ideal for anyone that struggles with stairs. The room, well, what can I say, it was lovely. Slightly old fashioned, but it had everything you need to make your stay comfortable and was very clean. We also had a lovely private terrace, where we enjoyed a few late evenings enjoying the view with a glass of wine. The pool, we enjoyed an hour in the pool and it is great. Its only a small pool, but the view looking over the Mlini coast is breath taking. The pool is located outside two rooms, so I'm not sure if this would cause an inconvenience for those rooms. Location, the villa is about 15-20 minutes outside of Dubrovnik. You can either use Uber, which costs between 10-15 Euro, depending on how busy it is, or you can grab a bus from the top of the hill for 5 Euro. The busses seem to run every 30-45 minutes and we managed to use them easily enough. Mlini itself is absolutely beautiful! There are several beach locations that can utilised. Some that are surrounded by restaurants and bars and some that relatively private. The beaches are not sand, but stones, so i would suggest bringing some footwear that can be worn to access the sea. There are a number of restaurants, id say 5-6, that are close to the villa. We used 3 of them for breakfast and dinner. The food is lovely and plentiful, but the prices are not cheap. A breakfast will cost between 15-25 Euros. A dinner will cost 80-100 Euro. Overall, a lovely villa, lovely location, lovely beaches, lovely restaurants, just lovely and we will be returning!

Absolutely amazing property. Amazing view, comfy bed, super clean, lovely pool, flat walk to beach, restaurants and shop, boat to city.

I booked my staying there and it was lovely place. Bettter than i expected. Beautiful views! Easy to go places, and quiet area. Only one minus, when i had to check in they didnt find my bookings. And when i arrived to dubrovnik they callled me that my booking was cancelled. But i went to villa mirjana and the owner said that its overbooked but they gave me better room. So it was nice.

great place to stay! Right outside Dubrovnik
