This 'resort' is quite a distance from the main area of moalboal. If you are here for diving or snorkeling, you'll probably love this place for the location and access to sea, but aside from those facilities, there's not much here. Pool was cloudy and dogs were swimming in it, rooms are basic and WiFi over our last 2 days was unreliable, with it not working at all in building 1. No tv, old towels. Breakfast not included, but food offering was OK, as were the drinks at bar. If you have no transport and aren't diving, there's nothing to do here. The owner was very amenable, but was out of the country during WiFi issues. No safe in the room, though probably not needed here, but it's nice to have the option of reassurance for storing passports etc. Bathroom door would not shut, door was swollen and needed planing back.

Great setting right at the waterside and excellent for snorkelling. Spent a lovely morning out on their boat trip doing more snorkelling. Only a short walk along the shore at low tide to get to a lovely beach. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the food too.

Fantastic Dive Resort - tucked away with gorgeous views. We went here because we had just finished our PADI certification, and wanted to do a lot of diving (and had heard bad things about the whale sharks in Moalboal). We could not have been happier that we ended up here; we ended up doing 8 dives with Jeff, who is the resident dive master. He was super helpful and friendly and so knowledgeable - he pointed out so many things we would have missed otherwise if we were on our own. There were so many great dive sites, and we would just go based on his recommendation. The shore dives were also fantastic, and the corals are beautiful. We saw so much, including loads of turtles and a sardine run. The hotel and the food was great too, and they had a well stocked bar. We ate most meals at the hotel, and there was plenty of variety. There is also a really cool town nearby, called Panagsama, which is really cool (15-20 minute TukTuk trip away, which the hotel would sort out). All the staff at the hotel were fantastic, and really made the stay, Narissa especially so. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which had a roof top deck and chairs where you could sit out with uninterrupted views of the entire coast. The hotel are also really responsive on email, and Michael (hotel owner) answered all of our questions - directly worth reaching out to them and booking directly. Michael was also a great guy to have around, highly entertaining! All in all, fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend. If you want to dive, this is the place. One thing, which is not necessarily issue, there is limited phone signal, and the Wi-Fi is pretty slow, so if you are trying to work a bit or stay connected just be aware of it (its still manageable, but not for zoom calls or anything like that). Perfect if you want to completely disconnect.

The resort was absolutely fabulous ! Nice and private resort, beautiful set up, incredibly welcoming. The best part was the staff ! Everyone was very kind from the owner, management to the housekeepers. Would highly recommend, we came as a family of 10 and they provided plenty of options for activities. Not to mention the beach and water access were top notch. Thank you so much for the hospitality, Cheers !!!

The Blue Orchid We had the most amazing stay here at the Blue Orchid! Michael and his family are such lovely souls, they go out of their way to make your stay amazing. We got the beach front room. Room was massive, shower pressure was the best we had during our 3 weeks in the Philippines. Food at the restaurant was super tasty, all freshly made, didn't have a bad meal at all 10/10. We did 2 days of Diving with Nathan, Norman and Jeff and they made every dive unforgettable. Very professional and great company, can not say a bad word at all. Thanks also to Rob and Louisa for making our stay memorable and good luck with your future travels. Oh and not to forget the puppies 😍😍😍 they are adorable. This is the place to stay in Moalboal, look no further, we can't wait to return. Thank you so much for an amazing stay.

Came here with my sisters on a short holiday weekend and had an amazing time! The staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming. We did the Sardine Run/Coral Reef snorkeling adventure and the Whale Shark swim. I cannot recommend them high enough! They were such an awesome experiences that you need to try.

We loved staying here in the honeymoon suite! The staff was very friendly and helpful; it was so easy to book all of our adventure excursions. Make sure you do the canyoneering - it was a highlight of our trip for sure! There is also fantastic snorkeling available right at the house reef. We saw a sea turtle our very first morning at the resort. The food cooked right in the resort was delicious and had plenty of variety from breakfast to dinner. The pork adobo here was possibly our favorite dish we had during our entire Philippines trip. It was also very easy to arrange a trike to go into town for dinner too. We liked Ven’z Kitchen a lot! The resort staff was great about helping us arrange all our transport, including to and from the airport in Cebu City. The only thing we weren’t expecting was that they do not accept credit cards for payment. Every cost at the resort goes on a tab and you pay upon check out. Cash, Paypal, or other wire transfer only. It wasn’t difficult but just be prepared.

We stayed at The Blue Orchid for a week in November 2023. This hotel is remote from Moalboal, which in itself is a 4 hour journey from Cebu city. But the location is very special, and I recommend you stay for a week or more. We started off with a double room, and the kids in a twin, but Michael, the congenial owner, upgraded us to the honeymoon suite which is enormous with its own lounge and balcony. Of course, an upgrade cannot be guaranteed, so I recommend you book this to begin with; it's well worth it. The beds are very comfortable and the staff clean and change everything daily. We ate two meals a day at the restaurant. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and varied. We only ate local dishes but I noted Western ones were available too. The bar is open until 4 am with a small range of beers and cocktails at (by Western standards) very reasonable prices. The snorkelling at the reef just off the hotel is excellent, lots of turtles and varieties of fish. The resort can take you to the Sardine Run as well which is a 20-minute boat ride. My twin 18-year old daughters completed their PADI open water dive qualification with Nathan, who was an excellent instructor. I dived for the first time in 15 years with Jeff, who was completely understanding of the reasons I hadn't dived in so long and helped me overcome my nerves at diving again. The staff at this resort cannot do enough for you. If you stay in Moalboal, don't look any further than The Blue Orchid. Thanks, Michael, for a great stay.
