Im sorry if this review is very negative but I am being honest about my second stay here. The first time I went here, this was back in 2019, we had a fantastic time with the romance package - included were a bottle of champers, chocolates, dinner for two and also a 1hr massage for two included. So I thought! this time round was the complete opposite. Apart from the same romance package (excluding the massage). the room had a noisy A/C, the bed was as hard as it comes, like sleeping on a plank (glad we took our own pillows) and the decor hadn't been updated (sent us back into 1990's) Breakfast use to be in the restaurant - NOT ANYMORE! Dinner only on a FRI and SAT night, which is on a very ordinary menu. Overpriced I might add. The staff were run off there feet during dinner time (not enough to cover busy nights), our gorgeous meal that I ordered and waited for, was disappointing, burnt to a crisp. If it wasnt for the young staff trying to fulfil everyone elses wishes, I would have sent both our meals back - mind you, I ordered mediium/rare sirloin steak -the dearest I have seen for a 450g steak at $66, which was inedible. So my advise to anyone thinking about staying there! Dont hire a room/spa room, dont go to the restaurant unless you are desperate. Go Cabin - its self contained with a kitchette and you can cook your own meal and still have a great time doing all the outdoor activities. Im sure if you cook for yourself, you will never be disappointed.

We stayed here for a week. Loved it all. Dance for New Year’s Eve was great so much fun. The cafe was good to get hot chips and take away coffee. The restaurant was very good. A great meal. Staff are so friendly. Couldn’t do enough for you. Run by a local family which is great. Met the granddaughter who served us at the bar and we got to hear the family history of Riverwood. Thank you for one of the best holidays our family has had.

We were there for a family wedding. It is a lovely location but it would be best if you had a 4 wheel drive to get there as the dirt road is extremely bad and long. It was very hot and the air con was not very cold. We stayed in a spa motel room as we only wanted to stay 1 night and the cabins had a minimum 2 night stay. Spa wall is very high and had to be careful getting in and out to have a shower. Is advertised as tea and coffee making facilities, this usually means jug, tea and coffee sachets, sometimes little biscuits and cups and spoons. All we had was a jug, upon checking out I mentioned all of this was missing (as I didn’t want to be charged for missing items) I was told that shouldn’t have happened as they had a few days to get the rooms ready. I was offered a barista coffee, which I said Thank you but declined as we just needed to get going as we had a 5 hour drive ahead of us. Luckily we had travel mugs in the car from the day before and our own coffee sachets, borrowed a spoon from the room next door and had a cuppa to go. I would not recommend.

My wife had an expired voucher to attend RIVERWOOD Downs but she explained to the wonderful staff that her husband [me] had just been diagnosed with a horrible medical condition and just wanted a relaxing weekend before the medical procedures began. They graciously let us stay and we are both truely appreciative. It’s not all about making money . On arrival we were warmly greeted and was surprised that our daughter had purchased a ‘romance package ‘ [which did make us laugh ] So wine etc stocked in the fridge and a dinner in the restaurant. We had been advised that the restaurant was nit available on the Saturday night due to having a wedding function on that evening. No problem as we had made some dinner for that night . To our surprise the restaurant was open on the Saturday night ‘just fir the two of us ‘. We met the head chef and another member of staff who decided under the circumstances that they would give us a ‘special’ evening. To say we were overwhelmed is an understatement. I inquired about how long they had been working there for and both replied that their employer was fantastic with one having worked there for over 20 years . My take from this is that the management treats their staff well and they feel that their services are appreciated unlike so many other toxic management. I was amazed that you could bring your dogs to the outside part of the restaurant for breakfast/lunch and dinner and choose a dish from the menu for your dog!!!!! The park was so relaxing to just walk around or swim in the river or pool. Our cabin was comfortable but you could upgrade or downgrade to suit . I have no idea how many people were there over the weekend but because it is so spread out we had no issues at all. In summary I wish to thank the management and their team for making out stay ‘so special’ and we were humbled . I strongly believe in supporting businesses that value people over profit and I trust my review will only help you further .

Stayed 3 nights in a Riverview Spa Cabin. These cabins are located about 150m away from the main caravan park. The cabins are old with lots of cobwebs on the balcony and externals. There is no river view as the undergrowth in front of the balconies obscure this. Inside there are 2 rooms. A bedroom containing the bed, spa, shower and toilet. In the other room is a mini kitchen and lounge area. Having the toilet in the bedroom with no doors was not appealing. There were no BBQ’s available nearby, Overall felt the cabins were run down and in need of improvement.

On arrival the place (HUGE) looks great. After travelling for 9 hrs and existing on crackers and cheese we were looking forward to a lovely relaxing meal in the dining room. (Advertised as open for Breakfast/Lunch/DINNER....Arrived, booked in and asked for a dinner reservation. Dining Room closed!!! and only the take-away kiosk open and that closed at 5pm. Remote location and THERE ARE NO NEARBY SHOPS!!!! The deep fryer had been switched off and all that was available were pies and sausage rolls!!! The room was very basic!! (Who rated this place as 4 -4-1/2 stars??? Mickey Mouse???? There were no cereal packets available and not even a toaster. The shower is over a corner of the spa bath (and high to climb into - a danger for frail/elderly people)!!!!! The wallpaper frieze is coming off the walls and looks terrible! Certainly pet friendly (although some owners do NOT pick up after their pets so keep your eyes open) but the place itself is a disgrace and exorbitantly priced!!! A 1-star cabin in a caravan park would have been better!! Thank goodness we will never be going back.
