Monterey Beach Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Overall bad stay, great location and views but that was all it had going for it really. It was expensive for a tiny room. the lights had to be switched on one by one individually without a master light switch. some lights were broken when we checked in. There was an incredible amount of hidden costs. They wanted to charge $9 for every bottle of water in your room, charge for usage of the hotel pool and hot tub and saunas and charge parking. Overall okay stay just not at all what i’d expect for the price we paid per night.

Everything was good except the fact of someone pounding on my door at 1:00am then they took off! It was ridiculously unacceptable as they think it’s funny! Other then that, the view of the beach from our room was spectacular. Well worth the cost. Checking in/out was quick and easy.

We got married at this hotel, 10 years ago and decided to celebrate our 10 year anniversary here last week. The lobby check in and bar redone beautifully under the new ownership name. The rooms were horrible. The furniture bathroom floor and carpet were disgusting. The bathroom curtain was falling off and we crossed our fingers, hoping to have a curtain for the two days we were there. the carpet from the room to the bathroom was frayed and pulled up and if we were not tripping on it, we would step on it and it would poke us and cut our feet. I am glad we did not bring kids because there was so many people smoking **** that it was in the air. We have stayed in Monterey at other hotels for half the cost and had a much better experience.

it's a great environment for families and friends. right on the beach. it is windy so come prepared with cold weather clothing. can't wait to go back

Enjoyed every night here. Complimentary adult beverage at the bar first night stay of the hotel was nice. But the best part was knowing 24 hr beach access right in front of our room was the best decision I ever made. Views were great. Not too far from down town. Definitely would recommend.
