The Jabberwock Bed & Breakfast

The hotel is very nicely decorated with antiques by the owners. The rooms are very confortable. Breakfast is served between 8.30 and 9.30. We enjoyed our stay at The Jabberwock and would highly recommend it.

First, upon check-in, Dorothy was very kind and gave us a tour, and she invited us to the afternoon wine hour—the champagne and snacks were delicious. Second, although the room was not big, it was cozy, classically decorated, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The only minor downside was that we shared a wall with the next room, and they snored quite loudly, haha—but we still slept well. Third, the breakfast was delicious! It was so good that I wasn’t hungry again until the afternoon. Fourth, I really love the decor and design style here; it’s very tasteful and charming. I also wanted to take all these souvenirs home! We had a lovely stay at the Jabberwock Inn. The innkeepers were warm and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. Very convenient location, too!

The Jabberwock Inn is beautiful and charming, and the breakfasts were wonderful! The innkeepers were gracious and welcoming, and they gave us great recommendations for restaurants and local attractions. The Monterey Aquarium was outstanding!

My husband and I recently stayed in the Brillig room for 3 nights. It was a cozy comfortable room and looked out onto Monterey Bay. We kept the windows open in both the bedroom and bathroom during the night which allowed a cool breeze to come in for good sleeping. We found the house and grounds to be interesting and well kept and the Jabberwock was located in a nice residential neighborhood, close to the sites we wanted to see. We enjoyed talking to the other guests at breakfast time. We did not get back for the 5-6:00 pm wine/hors d'oeuvres hour since we were out and about exploring the area, but another couple told us it was a very nice opportunity to wind down after a busy day of site seeing. Suzanne and Rick, the innkeepers are both friendly, enjoyable to talk to, and very helpful in pointing out places to go. You can tell they enjoy running a b&b. We also found Dorothy, one of their employees to be very accommodating. We highly recommend the Jabberwock Inn.

The Jabberwock Inn was absolutely enchanting, and offers so much more than your regular hotel experience at a comparable price. Rick and Suzanne went above and beyond to help ensure my partner and I's first stay in Monterey was a trip to be remembered. It was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed and more. Their breakfasts were delicious, and it's in a very walk-able area. I hope to be back.

We had a marvelous four-night stay at the Inn. Rick and Suzanne are amazing hosts who treat guests like family, while paying attention to the small details. (It helps that Rick has decades of experience in the hospitality industry.) Every aspect of the Inn makes you feel comfortable and welcome--from the sun-filled windows where you get your morning coffee to the warmly furnished common areas that are filled with curiosities of the Alice in Wonderland theme and more. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished, the beds are comfortable, and amenities are more than adequate. Our room's window on the second floor facing the bay provided a beautiful view morning and evening. The breakfasts and late afternoon wine-with-hors d'oeuvres were perfect, and getting to know other guests during those gatherings made it even better. The aquarium, hikes during the day (one recommended by Rick), and good food at local restaurants made our second stay in Monterey the perfect getaway.

Amazing, quirky in the best of ways, gorgeously decorated, full of personality. The innkeeper was incredibly friendly, and welcomed us like we were old friends. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night.

We recently stayed at Jabberwock Inn to celebrate our anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rick is an amazing host. He shared some fun stories, information and recommendations. Breakfast each morning was so delicious! Rick and Dorothy took great care to make sure our needs were met, including any dietary needs. The property and our room were very clean and beautifully decorated for the holidays. The location is great - very conveniently located in Monterey. We were able to walk to many of the destinations we visited on this trip. This is an amazing property. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Monterey.
