A peaceful and enveloping environment in a sublime location. The hotel is reached by ascending a winding road through rolling hills and cypress groves. We arrived at dusk and the stone walls of the ancient convent were pink gold. The rooms are large, comfortable and very well appointed. The amenities were top shelf and the soaps and lotions were, of course, olive oil based. A bountiful breakfast is served on the hillside courtyard. The selections include Tuscan specialties, great cheeses and pastries. All breakfasts were individually prepared and served by the cook herself. Finally there is a grey pool at the top of the terraced hill( where many of the vegetables and fruits served at breakfast are grown) is a pool with an unimpeded view of the hills, vineyards, valleys and woods all the way to Siena.

Elisa and her team were amazing, attending to the finest detail with-out fuss. Our stay was intimate and relaxed, just what we needed after touring some of the bigger destinations. The Hotel is an excellent location to experience what Tuscany has to offer, being a Tuscan Villa restored to the highest standard yet still authentic. The food is incredible and the dinner degustation menu is a must. They catered to my gluten intolerance with-out fuss and the quality is amazing. This Hotel is an excellent choice!

Lovely historic boutique hotel with great views of Tuscany. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite which offered us plenty of space to relax and hangout. Each room is unique due to the nature of this historic building. Daly's breakfast selection is great and the staff is very friendly and supportive. They also offer a farm-to-table dinner which you are strongly recommended to make reservations for. The location is a bit remote but you can easily drive to quite a few nearby towns, including Siena.

This Villa was extraordinary and the # one thing that made it amazingly special was the kindness, graciousness, and warmth of all the team members, including, but not limited to Elissa, Francesca (5 star chef to us), Mattia, Masi, our lovely chambermaid, and the groundskeeper. A bonus was the owner and his partner visiting with us during our 4 course dinner one night, so gracious and lovely. There are not enough words to describe the uniqueness and simplicity of this property. It was truly serene, and everything I had ever imagined of what Tuscany would be like. Down to earth luxury. Bellisimo! We are so grateful to have experienced this.

We had a great stay in this lovely, comfortable boutique hotel made up of beautifully restored old buildings with great views across the Tuscan countryside towards Siena. All members of staff looked after us well and they are obviously very passionate about what they do. The chef, Francesca's, tasting menus were a delight.

From the moment we arrived at Relais La Costa we knew it was special. The warmth of the greeting from the Resident Manager Elisa and her staff made us feel welcomed and valued. The residence itself is a truly magnificent property with every detail catered for. Our luxury suite was beautifully furnished and you feel relaxed as soon as you walk through the door. Elisa even arranged bike hire for us to explore the countryside! - nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was incredible - we thanked Francesca the chef as I cannot recommend the 4 course tasting menu highly enough, it was truly special and Mattia is such a great dinner host with advice on the wine list and drinks menu and gave us some interesting facts on how Relais came to be a luxury hotel. A lovely breakfast sets you up for the day and the choice of the spa or the pool or exploring the nearby town of Monteriggioni means you can soak up the Tuscan warmth! - the views from the top of the property are outstanding, you could spend hours just relaxing and listening to the sound of nature, very calming. We cannot thank Elisa and her team enough, we take away memories that will last us a lifetime but we intend to return as once you stay there you will definitely want to return one day. A true Italian gem!

We first visited by chance in 2017 and would have returned sooner but for Covid. The Spa is located high in the hills overlooking Siena and is a converted beautiful old farm house and buildings very tastefully modernised without losing any of it old world character or charm. The staff are very friendly and welcoming which helped to make this one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we have had. The food and wine were also first class and added to an overall wonderful experience. We hopefully will return and would highly recommend this very scenic and peaceful retreat. PS A car is essential.

After the amazing trip we had in the south of Italy we've arrived in this beautiful historical property, secluded and apparently very romantic. The property is managed by an elegant lovely lady who is really doing her best to hide all the imperfections of this place (bless her!) She welcomed us in the best way possible and give us a little tour of the property. The views are very nice but once we entered in the room we've noticed the temperature was 31.1 degrees and believe me you could feel the heat. The manager explained in a very gently and elegant manner that the property is an historical building therefore it is not allowed to install air conditioning, but no need to say it is obviously not true. In fact we've googled it at night and plus I am an architect and we've made sure how not true that is! As we spent the entire night in the garden because of the heat (at night the temperatures were like 28.9 degrees in the room) we decided to come back to her and I could tell that problem was totally outside of her control, she was really trying to help at best but could not do anything for the heat. She took a bit of time to talk to the "owner" who I think we actually met at some point during one evening with his family and I believe he allowed her to offer us a bottle of wine which btw did not meet our sophisticate taste and could not carry on the plane LOL. It is like the Sahara desert and don't know how people can stay there at summer, that's insane! The candles outdoor are melting because of the temperatures and the nice lady keeps on replacing them. Food was good but also not a luxury experience in the taste nor the choices, however the prices are definitely bit too high expecially for drinks and wine.We will definitely not suggest this place to any other traveller.

My Better half booked us 3 nights at the Relais la Costa at the end of our break in Northern Italy. We have fallen in Love with Italy and in my case particularly the Dolomites, so I was a little disappointed to be heading 3-4 hours South to Tuscany as I loved Lake Garda. However, I always keep an open mind so off we went. We had read a review saying rely on Google Maps to find the place and that was great advice. It is in the middle of no-where up a long gravel road but we found it easy thanks Google. Lake Garda was a bit of an action Holiday, with Paragliding and MTBing being 2 of the many things we did so arriving at the Hotel and meeting Eilisa I felt my whole life slowing down. She like everything at the place is just calming and relaxing, and we had intended to explore a lot but to be honest the first day we just relaxed by the pool & slept loads.... Whilst relaxing you wit then meet Francisca the head chef who will pop by for a chat as she is collecting herbs and fruit from the gardens preparing the evening meal. Along the way she taught me to make Pici Pasta which I have already made twice since getting home with Cacio e pepe sauce. Hope I am doing OK with spelling names and Foods? The food was amazing although Teri struggled with all 4 courses but me being a kind guy was happy to help her finish! Anyway, cut a long story short it was lovely we did go to Siena and travel around the area on one of the days but to be honest I could not wait to get back to the hotel as it was so relaxing and in my normal life I hardly ever seem to be able to relax so it was heaven. We will go back again, I am sure.
