The facilities are old, remote and except for the main building of Castle, there are no facilities or views next to it to speak of, the flowers and plants around the castle are not taken care of. The hotel mainly hosts local Irish people (wedding guests or vacationers) and feels treated differently from other races. The front desk employee was not enthusiastic, called the front desk to request In-room dining menu, waited for half an hour no one delivered, called the front desk again when I realized that I had forgotten Breakfast is included in the room rate, ordered Egg Benedict but the food contained eggshells, are too lazy to complain. Overall not recommended to stay.

I have never stayed at a castle before but after this I definitely plan to do it again! So cool and gorgeous driving up the lush green drive to Kilkea Castle, I felt like a princess immediately upon arrival. Check in staff were excellent, helpful and lovely. Slight issue with my first room that Keala resolved for me right away. Walking around the common grounds and gardens was so dreamy with the castle in the background and the plethora of seating areas downstairs/near the bar were inviting and relaxing. Not to mention how delicious and very princess-like the complimentary breakfast was in restaurant 1180 before my departure. Stay here, you won't regret it. The only thing I will say is if you want night life you will likely have to go to the closest town but if you're okay with a quieter evening in a freaking castle then there's nothing to worry about.

The Irish holiday dream!! The staff was so nice, the location and castle was magical, and the vibe was so serene. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a magical traditional Irish experience!

Must stay hotel in a castle!! This hotel is amazing! The property was beautiful! The food delicious! The breakfast is not to be missed! I wish I had time to play their beautiful golf course!

This place was absolutely amazing!!! Had THEE best stay. What a fabulous location with spectacular views of a castle, excellent customer service, welcoming accommodations and great food. We had the pleasure of having Glenn as our bartender one night. This guy was a fireball of energy, humor and a wizard with making drinks.

Kilkea castle grounds are absolutely beautiful and so very serene. It was a perfect last night to relax and decompress for the journey home. The staff was wonderful and very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely comfortable.
