we spent only one nigt in this beautifull lodge. The beach is fantastic, the pirougue tour that we had for snorkelling was really great. The reef is not too far and it is very rich of fish, langoste and corals of different colors.

The cosy bungalows scattered in the area, facing the sea, are in a calm area where you won’t be disturbed by the sound of the sea tides. You have running water and thanks to solar panels, you have the light and hot water. This countryside is sunny all the year and the hurricanes don’t go there. You can quietly read or stay in your room, outside at the shade lying on a Transat, by the veranda facing the sea, but also in the very well decorated - with a few local (also recycled) materials - main area which part is also the restaurant. The meals, mostly from local products and fresh seafood, are tasty thanks to the talented Italian hotel chief. After the good meals, you can do your exercises on your own by walking, running along the seaside or swimming and enjoying the fresh air. The owners, the hotel staff and maybe other guests are happy to chat with you in the patio. If you wish, you can go to meet the villagers in Andavadoaka. And if you have any gifts, better to let them by the hotel staff who will be happy to distribute them for you, so anybody won’t feel to be forgotten. And you can be reached and reach the loved ones as wireless works well. Some hotels in the nearby countryside don’t have this possibility. Interesting for any update or for a - hopefully short - distance working. You choose your own rhythm so you can set your time for the meals. And last but not least, a good hospital - Hopitaly Vezo - with surgery unit is nearby. The 7 hours’ drive in a sandy route, sometimes along the seaside, from Toliary/Tuléar northwards in a 4 WD through scattered small villages and forests with baobab trees is worth it. I will warmly recommend Laguna Blu resort for solo traveler or small groups.

After various research and evaluations we decided to spend part of our holiday at the Laguna Blue Resort and.... we left our hearts there! This resort is a true pearl and oasis of peace in one of the most beautiful seaside areas of Madagascar! The managers, Emanuela and Ernesto, are adorable and have managed to give the right Italian touch even if, being a fairly remote place, it is certainly not easy. The bungalows are very simple but have everything you need, there is also a bidet which is very important to us Italians. Bathrobes and a hairdryer are also provided (the latter on request). Acceptable cleanliness. The beach is wonderful, talcum white and walking lovers will be able to make the most of it! There is the phenomenon of the tides but in my opinion it is not a negative point on the contrary... it is very fascinating and you can walk among the pools that form to observe shells of all kinds, starfish and small fish! We went on several excursions and without a doubt the day in the canoe spotting the whales thrilled us, we saw so many of them, even very close, jumping, flapping their tails and fins, there were also mothers with their puppies. Then still by pirogue we reached and spent a day at Baia degli Assassini (wonderful place to be on the beach in complete relaxation) and on foot (about 20 minutes from the resort) we reached the beach with starfish visible at low tide. The wind, more or less strong, was almost always a constant but when not too strong it was pleasant. The sea was a little cold for our tastes for long swims and/or snorkeling so I recommend a light half wetsuit. And now we come to the other strong point: the kitchen and the food! Ernesto is a very good chef and manages to enhance the raw materials that arrive fresh every day (we saw lobsters, various fish, tomatoes, etc. arrive) so you will not miss our food. The wifi is only present in the restaurant area but with connectivity very limited data. To get there it takes about 4/5 hours of off-road driving on "non" sandy roads among vegetation, mangroves and villages. To conclude, we highly recommend this wonder and we sincerely thank Emanuela, Ernesto, Michael and all the staff for their kindness, helpfulness and the fantastic days spent together ❤️

We stayed at Luguna blu for our honeymoon. What can I say, except that our stay was extraordinary. Starting from the Bungalows which are extremely well-kept, spacious and clean. The open-air shower (closed to prying eyes obviously) is a nice touch (I cried at the sight of the bidet). The location of the hotel is overlooking the cliff, you just need to walk a few tens of meters to be on a beautiful beach with you and no one else. It goes without saying that you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets while sitting on one of the many deckchairs or sunbeds provided by the Resort. The cuisine is absolutely the best I have eaten in Madagascar (even superior to many many restaurants in Italy); Ernesto, the chef and owner, interprets a sincere cuisine, with strong flavours, never banal and backed by wisdom and extreme knowledge of the product. The fish obviously reigns supreme, as every morning it arrives freshly caught, in some cases still alive. The Italian style is unmistakable, however the contaminations of cuisines from all over the world and obviously Malagasy can be felt in Ernesto's dishes, it is impossible to be disappointed. Emanuela, for her part, is a perfect hostess, who will know how to pamper you and support you in everything you need, from washing your clothes to boat excursions and making you feel truly at home, perhaps with a glass of white wine in hand . Ah little bonus, right in front of the hotel about 400 meters in the sea, you will find an intact coral reef waiting to be explored. I recommend an excursion on a pirogue with snorkelling on the reef and a stop on the small island in front.

At Laguna I spent an intense and unique holiday period. Emanuela and Ernesto are wonderful hosts. Ernesto is a great chef. Every meal is a true journey of the flavors that this nature offers, cooked with skill. The resort is very clean and the bungalows are delightful, with a sea view. I absolutely recommend staying at least a few days to also enjoy the baubab valley.

On applaudit. On conseille !

A visiter absolument !!!
