It’s the most beautiful of costal walks, great staff and service. Food constant good fair quality. However you get charged £3 to park your car down on the car park. Which is fine. But they say they are pet friendly- they are in the hotel and restaurant. What they fail to clearly state while taking you £3 that the beach is “strictly no dogs from may 1st -1st November I was told.

Have been here before but only for drinks. As the weather wasn't good enough to sit outside we decided to have lunch. Hadn't booked but was shown to a table straight away. Ordered drinks and chose from the menu. We had Devon pasty with chips and the Exeter Burger which were delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Our 2nd visit to the Hartland Quay hotel and the service is as good as before. Very reasonable prices and attentive kind service. I would love to stay here at some point.

Had a wonderful experience at The Hartland Quay Hotel. Weather was really good, nice cheerful staff when ordering drinks and food. Food came out nice and quickly and there was plenty of it. Lovely views from the outside dining area. We couldn’t fault our evening out. Thank you

Warm welcome, homemade meal. Comfortable room. Stunning location. When our taxi failed to arrive the following morning the owner gave us a lift to ensure our onward travel needs were met. Thank you!

We've stayed here many times under the previous owner and it had a lovely old fashioned charm. it now seems to have lost it's soul. Our room had a shower that was really poor - I wanted to wash my hair but couldn't because the power was so poor and there was no bath. I found the bar staff rather sneery and sadly I won't be going back.

After a long walk on the costal path I stopped in at the hotel for some much needed food and drink. It was like being welcomed by family. Managers Donal and Sarah really looked after me, a solo traveler. Excellent food, cold drinks and genuine friendly and helpful staff all round. Please if you have the opportunity stop in for a meal and a pint, you won’t be disappointed. They really are the kindest of people. Many, many thanks X

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful location
Wonderful hotel, cant recommend highly enough. Great location on the south west coast path.
They offer a packed lunch for the next day which is definitely needed for the walk from Hartland way to Bude!

Firstly, the good. A one night stay, whilst walking. Great location, perfect for the SWCP. Friendly staff, great food (the breakfast sausage was as fine an example as I can remember in a long time). Good beers on draught, great choice of other drinks. But. We were woken in the night by a strong smell of drains coming from the bathroom. Opening the window, and shutting the bathroom door helped, but it was still unpleasant. We tried to find someone to report it to in the morning, but no-one could be found. I'm sure it's a one-off, but maintenance could do with checking room 10.
