Garden Route Safari Camp

Incredible place!! We have just sadly left this wonderful place having had a real once in a lifetime experience. We travelled as part of a larger group of 2 families with 5 children. We were fabulously looked after by the amazing people. Really wonderful personal touches throughout, always remembering our names, fantastic with our often quite particular children. Exceptional food and wine. Accommodation was excellent. Well appointed with all the mod cons you would expect and more. The safari was incredible. The ethos of the conservation approach was very impressive and what the team are building towards is exciting. Feel privileged to have got the chance to spend time here. Really didn’t want to leave. Thank you to Unelle, Steffen, Nanette, Eon and all the wonderful staff that welcomed us. Not forgetting stormy!!

My favourite animal in the world is a giraffe 🦒 Mark our fantastically knowledgeable guide helped my dad and I have another phenomenal experience. We saw a zebra foal who was led than 24hours old (I did suggest the named her Lisa!) with her family. The giraffes when we finally found them were just awe inspiring. The boks, the lions, the leopard tortoises, and the African unicorns were but a few of gods creatures we were lucky enough to encounter. Such a wonderfully personal unrushed adventure.

We actually found out about this lodge more by chance and booked at short notice. Fortunately, there was still free capacity. Even the arrival was more than ordinary and the warmth was hard to beat. The lodge's motto corresponds exactly to the feeling we had during our entire stay: coming home. The game drives are highly recommended, both in the evening and in the morning. Our guide Marc loves this piece of land with all its animals and plants. He infected us with this love. Both the owners and all the staff constantly gave us the feeling that we were in the right place at the right time. Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts for this wonderful hospitality. Eigentlich sind wir mehr zufällig auf diese Lodge aufmerksam geworden und haben kurzfristig gebucht. Zum Glück gab es noch freie Kapazität. Bereits die Ankunft war mehr als gewöhnlich und an Herzlichkeit kaum zu überbieten gewesen. Das Motto der Lodge entspricht genau dem Gefühl, das wir während des gesamten Aufenthaltes hatten: nach Hause kommen. Unbedingt zu empfehlen sind die game drives, sowohl am Abend als auch am Morgen. Unser Guide Marc liebt dieses Stück Land mit all seinen Tieren und Pflanzen. Mit dieser Liebe hat er uns angesteckt. Sowohl die Inhaber als auch alle Mitarbeiter haben uns ständig das Gefühl vermittelt, dass wir zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort sind. I have been to several different safari lodges in SA and Kenya, and this one really stood out. The staff and their attention and care was excellent. A big thank you to Mark, our guide, who really made our safaris special with his knowledge and enthusiasm. The room was lovely, large, comfortable and had everything we needed. We would return as soon we can, this time we would stay for longer. Looking forward to seeing all the growth you have planned for the area. Thank you.

It is difficult to find the words to do justice to the experience, the hospitality and the connection that remains after my visit to this family run establishment. Both myself and my guests from Germany found the experience to be one that will remain a highlight on our recent trip in the broader Western Cape. The personal attention left us with warm hearts, whilst the well informed guided tours left us informed and with an appreciation for the conservation efforts of people like the owners. Will definitely return.

top location with excellent service 👍🏻. Unfortunatly they only setteled 2 animals from the big 5. But they told us to have soon Hippo and crocodile. Food was great and rooms beautiful and very clean

It was a pleasure to meet all the lovely people at this perfect place. I was touched and overwhelmed. I felt welcomed and would have loved to stay longer. I wish I could come again to see the development of this great project

This was a wow factor! This game lodge is a small and family-run business and you immediately feel that you are welcome into their world of animals and nature. The family and the staff were friendly and helpful and gave us full attention during our stay. The accommodation is everything you are dreaming of and the food was amazing. A big thanks to our guide Mark that learned us a lot and walked that extra mile.
