Property Description
Welcome to our historical Civil War Farmhouse. The Stone home was built in 1789. With some of the original wood floors and beams. At the time of the Battle of Gettysburg (July 1863) the property 7 miles southwest of Gettysburg, had been a working farm for over 75 years. It was remodeled 15 years ago and became a cozy family home. Where children grew and memories were created. While keeping its historic character, also contains modern conveniences (updated kitchen and baths, central heating and air conditioning etc.) We’re located in a quiet residential area, away from the hustle and bustle of town life. Only about 10 mins from historic downtown Gettysburg. We offer 3 bedrooms (upstairs, 1 Full. 2 Queen) and 1 ½ bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen, dining area, Living room, a TV with streaming channels and Wi-Fi. All bedrooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Due to this being a historic home, ceilings and doorways are low. The floors creak and slant. The home may not be functional for people with certain physical mobility issues. It is our goal to provide each of our guest with a wonderful stay. If at any point during your stay, you need something or feel we have not met your needs, please contact us immediately so we may rectify it. Lovely Home Beautiful historic home in a lovely setting. Outdoor space (back patio) is a great addition. Really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again should our travels bring us back to the area. Hosts were responsive and available if we needed them. Thank you for a great stay!

Excellent farmhouse, great location We had an amazing stay at this beautiful, historic Gettysburg farmhouse! After a full day it was great to retire at this cozy, spacious place. It is tucked away in a quiet part of Gettysburg but allows for a quick drive to any part of the battlefield, downtown or Hanover, PA nearby.

2nd Stay… Just as great as the first! This was our 2nd stay at this location. The historic home is perfect. The location is convenient to travel to the battlefield or into town. The owners are wonderful and answer all communication promptly. If heading to Gettysburg I would always choose to stay at this home.

What a Gem! This home was so charming... Lovingly maintained, perfectly decorated, stunning grounds, thoughtful amenities. When asked how they wanted to spend our last night in Gettysburg, our children chose to return to Hartlaub House to enjoy a cozy dinner, a campfire, and Civil War cornhole- they LOVED staying here. Blessed with perfect weather for our visit, coffee on the porch was a dream and the short drive into town was scenic and convenient. The hosts were excellent- knowledgeable, friendly and accessible. We are already trying to find an excuse to visit again!

Perfect Getaway The farmhouse more than lived up to my expectations. It has the old farmhouse charm while also providing you with modern day amenities. It was a wonderful place to come back to each day after seeing the sites in Gettysburg. The owners checked in with us every so often to make sure everything was to our liking and to see if there was anything they could do for us. My wife and I will likely be coming back here again sometime.

Amazing historical getaway! Being from California, we couldn’t believe the breathtaking scenery! So green and plush and full of wildlife. The house was stunning! Couldn’t believe we were actually staying in a home from the civil war era. The house was cozy, clean, relaxing and all the amenities provided were just amazing! The owners were so easy to communicate with and so friendly. Sitting out back or out front in the evenings was so cool hearing and seeing all the wildlife, it was surreal. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend this rental property to anyone wondering if this is a good place to stay. The answer is yes, you won’t be disappointed!
