Motel One Munchen Sendlinger Tor

Absolutely terrible! Be careful, they will cancel your room, no matter if you are a motelone-member (as I am) and tell you "sorry we're fully booked". Desk stuff really unfriendly, they did not care at all. I had to look for a hotel at night! I will cancel my membership if they treat me like this.

Stayed at this hotel at the start of a business trip. Friendly, welcoming staff at check in and, to my surprise, my room was ready when I arrived at 12:30. I had a balcony room on the 8th Floor which offered great views over Munich. The hotel's location is perfect for Central Munich, easily accesible by public transport and only a few minutes walk away from Marienplatz. The only downside is the construction at Sendlinger Tor Station but this is not something the hotel has any influence over. Comfortable bed, small bathroom but well appointed and has everything you could ask for. The hair dryer deserves a mention as well: Powerful and no need to constantly hold a button down like in some hotels. There was a safe in the room, but it was awkwardly placed next to the bed and I did not manage to get my laptop in. Did not use the wardrobe as I was only there for one night, but it seemed spacious. The bed was comfortable and I slept very soundly. The curtains in the room also work very well keeping out the light. Breakfast was wonderful with a great selection, great coffee, too. As I had a balcony room, I asked if I could take a cup of coffee upstairs. Having a coffee on the balcony early on a summer morning is a nice treat.

I stayed here when then snow in Munich meant I was stranded for a few days longer than expected and needed to change hotels from a much less pleasant one. The hotel is lovely, it has a very welcoming atmosphere and the facilities are great. The staff in particular deserve a mention, every single reception staff member I interacted with during my stay (and there were a lot when I had to keep rebooking due to flight cancellations) were so lovely, friendly, and helpful. During a stressful time this was really appreciated and also made me feel very safe which is important as a solo traveller. The rooms are a great size and were really cosy, the fireplace screensaver was also a really nice touch during the cold winter. The location is fantastic, super easy to get to everything central and well connected to public transport. In December there is also a little Christmas market just round the corner from the hotel which was really cute. Would 100% stay here again the next time in Munich.

Bar staff and service was terrible. Despite being busy, the problem was our party for ordering drinks and food! Bar man shouted at us when we said a drive had not arrived - in front of other guests. Completely unacceptable and made to feel unwelcome the whole weekend.

The location is hood, the standard rooms are tiny and bland but the "service" in the bar is unbelievable. We ordered drinks and a couple of their toasties and was told "that will be a problem". Too busy although we said we would wait, and they did eventually turn up. We ordered three gins and two wines. They wines promptly arrived followed by a gin and a glass with ice and a sprig of rosemary (?). When a female member of our group went to the bar to enquire after the missing drinks, she was shouted at. There's no manager on site and no-one really who cares enough so, staff run the show. Next morning, despite a DND on the door of our room, the cleaner entered without even knocking. Tbh it seemed very suspicious. Breakfast was chaos. We wrote an email complaining and were told to be "indulgent" as the staff concerned were long-serving and didn't mean to be rude. We've stayed in 5 Motel One's this year (Berlin, Rotterdam, Salzburg, Munich and Barcelona) and we are members of their guest club so I had hoped for a better response but, clearly not. We'll go elsewhere next holiday and stay somewhere our custom is appreciated.

Excellent location. Room quiet. Very comfortable bed. Room quite small but ok for 2 people for a few nights considering the location. Nice bar to relax in. Didn’t have breakfast as we went out locally

The hotel was clean and simple, no frills. The room was quite small but the bed was very comfortable and the room well kept. Great location in the heart of munich. Was an easy walk to the fairgrounds for oktoberfest. The quality exceeded what I would have expected for the price.

Conveniently located near start of pedestrian shopping area. About 10 minute walk to Marienplatz. On a very quiet street. Nice modern hotel with usual amenities. Breakfast can be purchased. Have bar for drinks, nice courtyard to enjoy them in. We were on 8th floor. Had balcony with nice view of neighborhood. Rooms very quiet, comfortable. Front desk spoke fluent English which was very helpful. Would stay again. Safe is in room too. No refrigerator.

Motel One is a very good, budget traveler's chain that offers a good value for the money. The rooms and public areas are very clean and stylish however the basic room is tiny..very tiny and were a bit of a challenge for a couple during a five night stay. Unfortunately, larger rooms were not available at the time. The staff was excellent and most helpful. Everyone we encountered at the front desk was great as were most of the other especially Doris at the bar. The lack of a phone in rooms is regrettable as it necessitates a trip to the front desk for any questions or needs. We also found the air conditioning inadequate at night for our east facing room although the weather was unusually warm for Munich while we were there. The curtains don't do a very good job of keeping the room dark in the a.m. The Motel One is definitely designed to accommodate a single person on a short business stay but we found it pleasant enough for our needs and wouldn't hesitate to use this chain again. Although next time, I would stay in a larger room
