Had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Alpina. The staff, especially man of many talents, George, was exceptionally thoughtful and helpful. (Many thanks!) We had opted for half-board in tiny Murren, and after asking my preferences, George created special dinner menu for us. The dinner was superb! Delicious in taste and pleasing in freshness! We had a wonderful, relaxing evening. Our room was very comfortable, well-equipped with spectacular views of the wall of Alps close by: Eiger, Monk and Jungfrau. Incredible!!! Recommend highly!!

This is the hotel with the most beautiful view of the world! We stayed 5 nights and I can't describe how happy and calm this place made me feel. Even at night we had the most cinematic experience with a sky full of stars. All the staff made us feel at home and the food was so delicious. Totally recommend!

A great place to stay. Second generation Owner Roger is reallly nice and helpful. His staff is great as well. A fabulous view from our balcony of the valley floor far below, and glaciers towering above. The hotel was warm, very clean, and inviting. The food was very good. We had the rosti twice. The carrot soup was really good ( and we got the recipe from the chef )

We stayed here for 4 nights. Great location a short walk from the train station. Very comfortable room with a balcony that faced directly to the mountains- a stunning view! Staff were friendly & helpful. We loved the deep bathtub that we soaked in after our long hiking days. A delicious breakfast buffet was included. Recommended!

The view from our room was amazing, I couldn’t look over our balcony as we were literally on a mountain hill side and it was a long way down but we certainly had dinner and wine on the balcony. Shame the chairs are plastic but maybe that’s due to snow in winter 🤔. Be aware there are no lifts and there is a 3rd floor! Our room was comfortable and not too small. BUT as a hotel I feel they are scrimping. There was no shampoo but a wall pump that I guess you use as body wash, bubble bath and shampoo. They provided no tissues. This to me was the worst thing, I had a bath, the water overflowed, there was NO DRAIN (is that legal?) on the floor so I used the bath mat and a towel to soak up the waters before it went out on the carpet, the next day I left the wet towels on the floor assuming it would be replaced but NO they hung the towels up! Wet and knowing they were on the ground. I found the cleaner and she replaced them. There is a note saying you have to put in bath to be replaced, seriously guys there is a thing called common sense, how gross for you to think it’s ok to rehang a wet towel. Next time I’ll let the carpet get wet. I have to say the staff were really friendly but I can only give a 3 because they don’t care about hygiene.

Our family of four (two full-sized teens) stayed in the family room, which could also be two rooms with one shared bathroom. Each room had it's own sink, so that was nice. It was cramped quarters for three nights, especially when the town shuts down early and you have nowhere to go other than your room. All in all, our stay was fine, but it felt more like a hostel than a hotel. That being said, the room was clean, the views from our room were spectacular, and the people were friendly. (we especially loved Maria- she's a sweetheart!) I do think they could focus on sprucing up the place a bit, especially given the price of the room. A little paint and decor goes a long way in making the place feel homey. The breakfast was a typical European breakfast, but had fewer options available than any other place we encountered on our trip. It would be nice if they would mix up the selection every now and then; it was exactly the same each morning, so by the third morning, we were wanting something different. The views and breakfast staff were the standouts at this hotel, but otherwise, it was just ok.

We loved our stay at the Alpina hotel in Murren. The views from our balcony were out of this world and arguably some of the best in Murren. The room was comfortable, quiet and super clean. The reception, the restaurant and the housekeeping personnel were all friendly and helpful. We appreciated having a small refrigerator in the room. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant on one of the nights, and the food and the service were quite good. For an alternative to the Swiss cuisine, there is an excellent asian restaurant just down the street. Hotel Alpina is located within a short walk from the Murren train station and is within easy reach of anything this lovely village has to offer. Highly recommended!

I had a very unexpected emergency that required my daughter and I to fly back to The States after just landing in Rome 24 hours prior. It was a whirlwind of emotions and things to do, new flights to book, old flights and hotel reservations to cancel. I booked this hotel directly and they had a 14-day cancellation policy. I missed that cancellation window by mere hours but the hotel would not give me any compensation whatsoever. I get that there are rules, but to miss the cancellation window by just hours due to an emergency I could prove just smacked of cold-heartedness. My guess is they were able to rent our room after we cancelled and made out quite well all the way around. I do hope to go back to do our intended Italy/Switzerland/France adventure once my daughter is well again. But when that time comes, I will not stay at the Hotel Alpina. They made a really, really bad situation just a little worse when they could have had a tad bit of compassion.

We only stayed one night on our way to Lauterbrunnen but we had the most amazing view from our balcony! Wow, right on the edge of the mountain! The staff was very friendly. We booked a family room which was two small adjoining rooms with a bathroom. It was good for one night, not sure I would stay more than two nights like that with four people. I would probably book separate rooms if I returned. That said, we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend the hotel.
