Cala Cuncheddi - VRetreats

My brother and I went at the end of the season so not crowded which was great for us. The hotel and staff were lovely and friendly This is a good place if you want some peace and not want to go to the towns. They have cars to rent if you want to explore away from the hotel. The cabs to town are 50 euros one way which is expensive so is the only draw back.

Exceptional Stay. If you want to get away from the hustle & bustle of work, City life, then come here. The place is an amazing retreat to get away to. The service, the food, everything, absolutely on point. Myself & my Sister went for a much needed break. The staff were amazing, all very friendly, Sergio (The Barman), takes special praise from us as he was always assisting, helping, guiding us and he is an absolute credit to the hotel & the company. The pool area, the beach, so beautiful & tranquil. Sardinia is a beautiful place but stay here to make your stay even more special. Many thanks.

We cannot say enough good words about our recent stay. From the minute we were greeted and checked in to our reluctant departure & check out the staff throughout the whole business were so friendly kind professional & respectful when helping with any queries or requirements we had A special mention must go to Francesco & Massimo who were both so nice & attentive when looking after us and were a credit to the business. Upon our arrival we were pleasantly pleased with the hotel building and its quiet location with its stunning view across its own private beach. It may have been the end of the season but all members of staff treated us so well as if it was the first week of the season. We definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a nice relaxing break and enjoy 1st class service from all the services the hotel has to offer. A heads up though due to its secluded location if you want to venture out and see other things the island has to offer make sure to hire a car which the hotel can arrange for you. We will definitely be coming back to Sardinia 😀

It is really a lovely hotel: positioned beautifully for a fabulous view. The staff are friendly and always try to please any need. The food is good, breakfast a good variety of fresh foods and bakery and the evening meal always sported a vegetarian option. If there are any negatives I would say that even though our room was delightful, it was difficult to manage suitcases through the variety of stairways as the lift only gave us access partially to the room. I also would have loved a towelling robe which I admit having got used to through other hotels of this calibre.

On arrival at the hotel the view out to sea is glorious, this hotel is super stylish with lots of local beautiful Sardinian art work on display. Delicious food, exemplary service, immaculately clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, private beach, Enjoyed the yoga classes and used the mountain bikes to explore the surrounding area. The hotel is isolated and a car is essential if you want to see more of Sardinia. If you want a relaxing, pampering week by the sea in beautiful surroundings Cala Cuncheddi is perfect.

Underwhelming. Cheap furniture and uncomfortable bed. We paid for superior sea view room and the first room we were given looked straight onto a big wall. You could only see the sea if you looked around from the end of the balcony. We then got moved to a smaller room which had a sea view but more accurately matched the inferior room on the website because it has a smaller balcony. The receptionists weren't very helpful even though they were polite. Booking the spa felt near impossible. The pool is very nice. The spa is quite good. The beach isn't very pleasant and has course sand. The restaurant food was horrible.

I chose this beautiful property for many reasons, but found myself with even more having stayed there 3 days. The resort has all the fine finishings, great food, service, scenery, spacious rooms, spa, and huge amounts of attention to detail, etc... The General Manager, gentleman, made my stay feel like i was a VIP. Definitely, on my list of places to return to. Thank you Cala Cuncheddi for your war welcome!!

Mediocre hotel, inedible food, disappointing customer service and not so nice beach. The furniture is super cheap and flimsy, the quality of a well known flatpack brand from Scandinavia beginning with K. The mattress was thin and uncomfortable. The room was really disappointing. We booked a superior sea view room and arrived to a room that only had a view of a wall; we had to go to the end of the balcony to get a glimpse of the sea. We were then moved to a much smaller room which had a very small balcony and more closely resembled the cheaper Classic Sea View room. At least this room had an actual view of the sea from the room. The bathroom was very nice at least. The customer service towards us was really lacking, unfortunately. Although we received a friendly welcome, my emails were ignored when trying to reserve the restaurant. I had emailed asking for one of the nicer sea view rooms and to receive a view of a wall just showed that they don't check notes for the guest before assigning rooms. Trying to book the spa was unnecessarily difficult, despite the fact that it was only about 10 metres away from reception downstairs. The reception couldn't give us basic information about the spa, such as if the sauna is free to access. It's surprising that receptionists/hosts of the hotel don't have a clue about key services the hotel offers. When we finally got enough information to book the spa downstairs, the spa receptionist said the spa was fully booked and unavailable, despite us not being given any information about needing to book it when checking in or on the websites or booking sites. When we complained they finally let us use the spa which was in fact empty, but we were only allowed to use it for 30 mins. The spa was very nice. The beach wasn't so nice. It had course sand and the water was choppy. On the same day, we visited another beach very close by which had calm water and fine sand. For some reason, the location has rougher water than other beaches closeby, at least by our experience that day. Porto Istana closeby (10 min drive/1 hour hike) had calm, smooth, shallow water and white, fine sand. The receptionist seemed quite lackadaisical about the problems we experienced. The customer service just wasn't there and the hotel lacked soul. The restaurant was horrendous and so expensive. The food was horrible and people were not finishing their meals. I sent my meal back. I would never stay here again. Prior to staying here I was considering booking the hotels in Taormina for our holiday next April 2024, but after such a bad experience and such poor customer care, I would prefer not to book with this company again or any of their sister hotels. Pros: -Nice spa. -Nice pool. -Good breakfast selection.
