The Star Inn

Spent 4 nights at this lovely country pub with accommodation. Rooms were comfy, clean and had everything we needed, hosts were very nice and the meals very tasty and well priced. Dont miss the Greek offerings! Nice peaceful rooms sited around the pubs' carpark. Great base for day trips out to the touristy places, like Bridlington, Pickering, Scarbough , York, Filey. Will be one we return to and can recommend.

Friendly pub with great food including vegetarian options. Dogs welcome in the bar areas but not restaurant and seemed popular with locals. Would have given 5* if we could have finished off our lovely meal with a nice coffee.

We were visiting the area for a family birthday party and booked the Star Inn for 3 nights. The landlady welcomed us and we booked dinner on two nights. The food is absolutely delicious. We love Greek food. The mixed mezze for two was especially to be recommended. Service was excellent, prompt and efficient. We didn’t have to wait for too long. Breakfasts were plentiful, hot and delicious too. The rooms are in chalets around the car park, well equipped with a TV, hairdryer, tea, free WiFi and coffee making facilities, armchairs, with outdoor seating outside the chalet. The shower was efficient. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was optional heating, which we didn’t need as it was warm enough. Overall, the hotel was good value. The village, the area are all welcoming warm and friendly and worth a walk and a bit of exploration.

If you work in hospitality, there should be some attempt at being hospitable. Stoney welcome, no hand pulled ale. Dark dingy pub in need of major refurbishment. Felt very uncomfortable. There is another establishment well worth a visit in Nafferton.
