Hotels in Confucius Temple/Qinhuai River Scenic Area, Nanjing

We capped off our summer vacation, which coincided with the 80th anniversary of the Anti-Japanese War victory, with a visit to Nanjing right before the holidays wrapped up. We stayed at a hotel that's quite the influencer hotspot, and the check-in experience was fantastic. My son was absolutely delighted with the Ultraman-themed room. Steven was exceptionally detailed and helpful in his communication and coordination. The check-out arrangements were also very accommodating and flexible, ensuring a completely hassle-free stay.

The hotel is incredibly close to the subway station, just a 100-meter walk to the right from its entrance. It's situated right at the entrance of Fuzi Temple, which makes the area very lively. After a busy evening exploring, you can easily head straight back to the hotel to unwind. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and the beef potstickers across the street are absolutely delicious! The front desk staff were wonderful – very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and well-maintained. I stayed for two nights and was very satisfied.

For my trip to Nanjing, I specifically chose this Atour Hotel. I inquired about a room upgrade, and the front desk staff kindly upgraded me to a river view room. It was truly fantastic; I had a direct view of the Qinhuai River right from my room! Ever since checking in, I found myself constantly peeking out the window to people-watch, haha! The surrounding area is also incredibly convenient for sightseeing, with the Imperial Examination Museum, Jiangnan Gongyuan, and Nanjing Impressions (a famous local restaurant) all within about 200 meters. What a great spot! This stay was definitely worth every penny! The bedding was incredibly soft and skin-friendly; once I lay down, I didn't want to get up. For breakfast, I highly recommend trying the Duck Blood Vermicelli Soup, Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), and rice cakes... (And if you're in a rush, you can even grab items to go! I took a coffee with me, haha!)

We booked a family suite, and both rooms were incredibly spacious! There was a minor issue with the lock on one of the internal doors, which made it a bit tricky to open once closed. However, it was still very convenient for traveling with both elderly family members and children. The location is superb! It's incredibly easy to reach Fuzi Miao, and the duck blood vermicelli soup available downstairs is absolutely delicious! I didn't take any photos of the room, but despite the hotel's proximity to a main road and Fuzi Miao, it was surprisingly quiet at night. We had a wonderful rest, and this hotel offers excellent value for money! We'll definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit!

Pros: The room is good for the price and is located in my most loved neighborhood of Nanjing. Best area to have snacks and to chill a night, open till 22:00. The hotel in general is ok and well decorated. Cons: when I first arrived the cleanliness level was ok BUT I found some hair on the ground. The shower was leaking water on the ground everytime I took it and it got clogged. The last day the air conditioner broke down and I ask for reparation. Nobody even answered me on WeChat. I also asked for a lighter duvet (since it’s August and they gave me a very thick one) but the receptionist said it wasn’t possible. It’s not the best out there but it’s ok for a few days since the location is good and quiet. Near laomendong but still not noisy at night

A very nice hotel in the old town of Nanjing with friendly and helpful staff. The room was bright, clean, and equipped with everything you could need. Breakfast was served outside the hotel at a restaurant directly across the street. Guests could choose their own breakfast selection. It's recommended to experience the quiet atmosphere in the streets around the hotel early in the morning. It gets very busy during the day.

The young lady at the front desk was incredibly sweet and welcoming. The hotel's location is fantastic, very close to both the subway station and Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple). There are plenty of shopping options nearby. It's particularly recommended for young fans who enjoy buying 'merch' (collectibles) at Shuiyoucheng mall. Ideal for families with children and elderly members who enjoy exploring at a relaxed pace.

I happened to pick this hotel, and it turned out to be incredibly convenient. Getting around was easy, and it was even better for sightseeing and shopping with Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) and Laomendong (Old East Gate) right on the doorstep. Sanqi Eight Lane was also very close by. Plus, there were tons of snack stalls right downstairs. I absolutely loved the location! The lobby is on the second floor, and the staff were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. As a tourist, I felt very welcomed and truly experienced the city's warmth. Check-in was smooth, and when I entered my room, I was genuinely satisfied – no disappointment at all! The room had warm, inviting colors, the bathroom was spotless, and the entire room was very comfortable. Plus, it even had a mini-fridge, which was a great bonus! Complimentary fruit was provided daily. But what truly stood out was that the front desk proactively checked in every day, asking if everything was satisfactory and how my stay was going. This level of attentiveness was truly exceptional, and I never expected such outstanding service in Nanjing's hospitality industry. Personally, if I ever return to Nanjing, I would absolutely choose this hotel again.

I recently visited Nanjing and stayed at this hotel, and the experience was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's location is superb, right at the entrance to the Confucius Temple pedestrian street, just steps away from the Qinhuai River. It's adjacent to many famous attractions such as the Confucius Temple and Laomendong, all within a few minutes' walk. After watching the Qinhuai River light show in the evening, I strolled back to the hotel, which was incredibly convenient for sightseeing. The rooftop terrace offers a superb view. My river-view suite overlooked the entire Confucius Temple complex, with the Jiangnan Examination Hall and the Qinhuai River all laid out before me. The room's decor was also exquisite, featuring an elegant walnut wood style. The wooden furniture had a warm feel and exuded a strong Chinese charm. What impressed me most was the hotel's service. The staff were warm and attentive, thoughtfully providing information on nearby attractions from check-in, and readily helping with luggage and answering questions. We brought a child, and the front desk proactively provided children's slippers and toothbrushes; they even served bedtime dessert soup to guests in the evening, which was very thoughtful and heartwarming. They also gave us a gift bag upon departure. We would definitely choose this restaurant again next time.

Choosing this hotel right by the Confucius Temple for my Nanjing trip was absolutely brilliant! It's just a 3-minute walk to the Confucius Temple, making night cruises along the Qinhuai River super convenient. Popular snack spots like those serving Duck Blood Vermicelli Soup and Plum Blossom Cakes are literally steps away. The room itself was clean and tidy, with a lovely peek at the quaint old street from the window. The bedding was so comfortable, I slept wonderfully, and even the bathroom vanity was perfectly organized. The front desk staff were incredibly thoughtful; they helped me store my luggage before check-in and even gave me a complimentary Confucius Temple map and some fantastic Nanjing travel tips. It was such a comfortable and hassle-free stay, offering incredible value for money. I'll definitely be booking here again when I bring my family to Nanjing!
