We have nothing but praise for this wonderful B&B. The room was excellent with a very comfortable bed, set just far enough from the main road for peace and quiet, and the breakfast offered plenty of choice. The hosts were not only warm and welcoming but also very helpful, providing great tips on bus routes, local sights, and restaurant/pub recommendations. As our return train was late, we were able to leave our backpacks at the B&B, which allowed us to enjoy more of the charming town. The building itself is Victorian, still showing a hint of its historic character, but thanks to renovations it offers all modern comforts. This B&B — and Betws-y-Coed in general — is especially recommended for travelers without a car. The bus network made it easy for us to do a beautiful hike near the scenic village of Beddgelert (changing buses at Pen‑Y‑Pass), and the next day we visited Caernarfon without any problems. All in all, a truly excellent stay — highly recommended!

Julie & Chris were excellent hosts and so accommodating. They have a great knowledge of the area and suggested lots of things to do. They really made it a great stay, I stayed in the single compact room downstairs which was perfect for my requirements. There is also a lounge next door which is available to use, should you require a little more room. Full English Breakfast was delicious with real coffee and homemade bread. There were also hot waffles, fruit and cereal. It was lovely to chat with the other quests each morning. Perfect for visiting Snowdon, Devils Kitchen, Llandudno etc. We ate at 'Ty Gwyn Inn' which is a lovely pub with lots of character, food is great. I will definitely be going back.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Betws-y-Coed Garth Dderwen offered us the perfect place for our staff training week. Warm and inviting Chris and Julie go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as they can. The couple have great local knowledge and connections of the area. Breakfast is a treat worth waiting for with all dietary needs catered for. Garth Dderwen is an ideal place for small groups looking for a place to call home.

Lovely guest house owned by a charming couple, Chris and Julie. The rooms were clean and charming and the breakfasts were great. We stayed in Room 1 which had the cutest tucked down a few stairs bathroom. The house dates from 1862 and has little quirks here and there. Chris is a fount of information on local walks and sights. The location is perfect.; a short walk from the train station and near some very good pubs and restaurants. It is a wonderful location for visiting Snowdonia with buses and trains to everything. We loved our stay here.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Garth Dderwen. Julie and Chris were very attentive hosts and the house was a perfect place to stay for our walking holiday. Substantial breakfasts and good conversations with Chris about what to look our for on our walks. The house is set back from the main road so the nights were peaceful. We were made to feel very welcomed to the B & B and also to Betws-y-coed.
