Beautiful home and garden. Comfortable accommodations. Excellent food. Best part is the owner. She is so joyful!

The highlight of our trip! We were so glad that we chose to stay here over Shirakawago because of the amount of tourists there. The hosts were super nice and friendly. They waited patiently for our arrival and called to check in case we couldn’t find the house. Once arrived, they made sure we have a parking space right outside the house. By the time we arrived during dinner time, our host had already prepared dinner and had the river fishes lined up beside the charcoal in the irori. The house was a heritage house and our host and family had lived there for generations so it was cozy and home-liked. The rooms were comfortably set up with heaters, thick futons and warm blankets. At night, they even filled up a hot water bottle for each of us. During dinner time, the host would sit with us (there were 5 of us plus two other Japanese guests) and served us dinner while chatting with us about our country/culture and about theirs. Our basic Japanese and their basic English with the help of Google Translate ensured that we had very enjoyable meals (breakfast and dinner) in our two nights stay there. As it snowed quite heavily when we were there, the view was spectacular and the stay was really an experience that I wouldn’t want to miss. I highly recommend to stay here at Ainokura with our wonderful hosts at Yomoshiro and not stay at Shirakawago. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
