La Gemma

Gemma's place is amazing,the location,the facilities and Gemma herself are all outstanding. She is probably the kindest host I have ever met.Everything is on your doorstep and yet the place itself is quiet and peaceful. Will definitely go back.

We had a wonderful time staying at La Gemma! Coordinating our arrival with Gemma was so easy and efficient. She was there to give us a warm welcome and provided us with a map of the city and told us the best things to do during our stay. She recommended great activities and places to eat pizza. The hotel was sparkling clean, and the air conditioning was nice during the hot days in August. Breakfast was brought to us in our room, and that was so convenient and such a luxury! We loved the delicious, personalized breakfast: coffee, homemade yogurt, fresh fruit, and fresh cakes! It was amazing! The apartment was very quiet at night despite being centrally located at Piazza Dante! It was super convenient to get around the city from there, within walking distance to all the main sites such as Via dei Tribunali, Spaccanapoli, and the Spanish quarter. We loved our stay at La Gemma and hope to stay there again next time we visit Naples! Such a beautiful city and a great place to stay :) Grazie mille!

I am vegan, which is quite an issue in Italy so when a friend and I decided to visit Naples, I checked the Happy Cow website for eating places offering vegan options. La Gemma B&B was listed as offering vegan options for breakfast and I immediately booked a room there. After spending 5 nights there, my friend and I are happy to award La Gemma 5 stars. Even before our arrival, Gemma (the owner) was very helpful texting us useful info. A warm welcome on arrival was followed by a helpful explanation of how to get around in Naples. On the first morning, breakfast was exactly as expected and she had followed our requests to the letter. The homemade vegan cakes are absolutely delicious. On the 2 mornings when we had an early start, Gemma kindly left a tray with our breakfast outside our room the previous evening. The location of La Gemma is perfect for exploring Naples - it is central and there is a Metro station in the square just outside the front door, although we never used the metro as we prefer to walk and the main sights are within walking distance. Our room and ensuite bathroom had a slightly dated decor but both were large, airy, clean and full of light from the skylights in the mansard roof. My friend and I agree that we would choose to stay there on any subsequent visit to Naples. Thank you so much, Gemma for making our visit truly memorable. Note - the B&B is located on a terrace on the top floor (4th) of an old building. The lift takes you up to the 3rd floor but then one has to negotiate a flight of stairs so I would not recommend it if one has mobility issues or is carrying a very large and heavy suitcase

La Gemma is a lovely, calm and comfortable B and B in the heart of Naples. The owner, Gemma, couldn't do enough to make us feel at home! Our room was very clean and spacious had everything we needed for a comfortable stay :-) La Gemma is really well located for the city centre and all the sights of the old town and very easy to access public transport. We had a lovely stay, thank you and see you soon! :-)

From the moment we arrived, Gemma ( the owner) couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and at home! She told us all the best places to visit, eat etc and was only ever a call/message away. She speaks great English and French too. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink too. Our room was pretty, clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable, including a kettle an tea-making facilities. Although in central Naples, the B&B is very calm and quiet and a lovely refuge from the noise and bustle of the city! Breakfast was included and again, Gemma was always there to ensure everyone had what they needed :-) La Gemma is ideally situated for visiting everything of interest in Naples! It's a 10 minute walk from the Cathedral, seconds away from the "Centro Storico" and a 15 minute walk from the Piazza Plebiscito and the sea-front. There is a metro station on the square "Dante" so main transport links and the airport are also easy to reach. We would wholeheartedly recommend La Gemma for couples or individuals wanting a "home from home" in Naples! Thanks again, Gemma, we had a lovely stay! :-)

Well-situated b and b in central Naples,walking distance of all major sights and right next to Dante metro. Host Gemma is very helpful ,knowledgeable,and communicative ensuring a very pleasant stay eg supplying us with a cool box to use in the room. The room is quiet with efficient double glazing and kept dark for sleeping with roller shutters in the velux windows which act as blackouts. The bathroom is a good size with all usual amenities, the shower strength we had though was just about adequate. Breakfast foods and drink are pre-ordered for a time you state, all very tasty and continental. We especially liked the homemade cake and yoghurt. A very welcome addition to the room was a kettle with dfferent sorts of teas (not coffee) provided. All black, no milk, standard for Italy !

This hotel is amazing! The service is excellent, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location is very convenient. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. The room was clean and tidy. highly recommended!

Just got back from an excellent 4 day stay at La Gemma in Naples. Gemma was friendly and super-helpful from the moment we booked and gave us some great tips on enjoying Naples when we first arrived. The B&B is 100 metres from a Metro station so a great base to explore Naples. It is also very close to the historic centre of the city with plentiful pizzerias and restaurant nearby. The room was very clean, well-equipped and comfortable and the breakfast was generous and delicious. I would wholeheartedly recommend La Gemma as an excellent base for a trip to Naples. We had a nice stay at Gemma's place. She was so kind and helpful. She gave us a short explanation about the locations and places where we can visit with a map and it helped us a lot. The location is closer to all the main attractions. Breakfast was also good. We highly recommend this place.
