A nice straight forward hotel, well located for central Sorrento, clean rooms & receptive staff. Reasonable pool, breakfast fair. Be careful of the bar waiter service in the evening, a 'medium' larger will be the best part of 1 litre in size...so best go to the bar when ordering. Previous reviewers have commented on building works in an adjacent hotel but that has now finished and they are getting ready to open, so discount that concern.

We stayed here from 27th July-6th August and it was simply amazing. The staff are attentive, kind and helpful. Michael allowed my family to pick fresh vegetables from his garden and cooked us a beautiful meal in his home. The rooms are cleaned everyday, with fresh sheets and towels to come home to after being out during the day. The pool area is clean with an appropriate pool size. The breakfast is lovely, and always guaranteed, and Angelo is always around the hotel, offering friendly conversation and drinks when necessary. It is clear that there is great care and love for this establishment, and the staff all work extremely hard to ensure its at its highest standards. If this is not convincing enough, the hotel is located extremely close to the main square, and you do not have to walk more than 5 minutes to find a decent restaurant or bar to eat/drink in.

Hotel Eden. Clean and tidy rooms. The view from our room across the gulf of Naples and Vesuvius was fantastic. Breakfast had a good choice. And all the staff we spoke to were very polite and friendly. As for location you I don’t think we could have done any better. Restaurants and bars were a 10 minute walk away as was the train station. Overall I would definitely recommend Hotel Eden to anyone looking for a good base to explore this lovely area of Italy.

Extremely dissappointing stay. Only positive was it's location (close to Piazza Tasso and Train station). Weren't informed that adjacent hotel was being renovated/parts demolished so constant noise throughout the day. Cleanliness needs attention. Hotel has stale odour. Never once saw anyone using a mop to clean! Worst coffee I've ever had in Sorrento (stayed in numerous hotels over 40 years). Restaurant and bar are dated. Clear plastic table covers used over tablecloths!.Had to eat outside due to staleattention

Pro’s - Great Location less than a minutes walk to the main square. - Close to the train station. - Close to all the shops/cafes/restaurants Cons - Noisy, building site next door, noise throughout the day and sometimes into evening. When told reception we were told “don’t look that way - just enjoy the view on the other side of the balcony”. - Bathroom was really smelly, definitely think there is a drainage problem. - Dining room smelt like wet dog, awful damp smell which was really off putting when you’re trying to eat breakfast. Horrible plastic table covers and generally just looks dirty. - Coffee was awful, machine coffee yet when asked for a freshly made one you could tell the coffee grounds were stale. Was also given a crusty used teaspoon, told the guy and he wiped it on his jacket and said look it’s clean! The only thing this hotel can remind me of is an episode of faulty towers!!

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Eden - it was clean, comfortable and in walking distance to central areas of Sorrento. It's an equal distance to the train station and port, which made it ideal. The breakfast is a great start to the day.

We were looking for a hotel that was a short distance from the train station and the ferry, since we were using backpacks, and wanted to be able to get around easy. The staff was friendly and helpful, encouraging us to take a moment and sit down after our travels and have a drink and take it all in! Our room overlooked the garden and beyond was the beautiful Golfo di Napoli. Our room was spacious and clean, the city noise was not overpowering. The hotel was close to Corso Italia, with shops and restaurants. We also enjoyed the pool!

Great base in Sorrento, fabulous for any trips to Capri, Naples, Amalfi ect. No frills, no fuss, great value. Nice chap on security in the evening. Liked the 2 entrances, particularly the one where you are able to entrance on the main street. Would 100% stay again.

The Hotel Eden is a really nice The rooms are very clean and well kept. We had a small balcony, overlooking the garden which you could put 2 chairs on. beds are very comfy and there is a safe and fridge in the room . Sadly there are no tea and coffee making facilities which we missed. Michael and John are lovely people who are very attentive. The cat Blue is just gorgeous and loves cuddles. The huge positive is it is literally a minutes walk from the main square of Sorrento where all the shops and restaurants are, although you would not know it as the Hotel and grounds are very peaceful and quiet. The train station is a 6 minute walk and a 3 minute walk takes you to the stairs which lead to the sea and the harbour. There are however a couple of negatives. The first is the pool, which is quite small but more importantly very deep . There was a ledge I could stand on, but after that, I could not touch the bottom anywhere. My husband is 5ft 11, and he couldn't either. I wouldn't recommend it for children. The second is the breakfast. If you are only looking for a continental breakfast your fine. There are croissants, rolls, plenty of preserves and 3 types of cereal 2 types of cold meat cream cheese, and one sliced cheese, which unfortunately felt and tasted like plastic. If you would like a cooked hot breakfast you are going to be disappointed. It was the same every day. Scrambled eggs, which tasted like they had been made with egg powder, stewed mushrooms and what passed for streaky bacon, but in reality, it was a mouthful of unrendered fat. There were a couple of days they had boiled eggs, although they were freezing to touch, so may have been cooked the night before and put in fridge overnight. I got round that one by shelling the eggs and putting them under the grill in the toasting irons used for the bread. At least it heated them. The breakfast was the only reason I gave this a 4 star rating instead of a 5. Would I recommend this Hotel , yes I would, but maybe eat out in the morning if you prefer a cooked breakfast.
