Not good, very unfriendly, not able to enter the Bahamas, no check-in, no refund, very bad, very bad, this country is very unfriendly, don’t come here to travel if you have money, very bad, disgusting country

We picked the British Colonial for the location (right downtown) and its private beach and pools. It was absolutely the right call - we had a lovely experience. Service was very good on all fronts, except our first night at the Woodes Rogers Tavern, but that was clearly a one-off that was not repeated. The hotel is within walking distance of all the main downtown attractions (maybe 30 min at most if you go all the way to Arawak Cay), but the private beach gives you a nice respite from the cruise ship crowd. Excellent restaurants all around, except - and that is the one of the few downsides - most will close between 5pm-7pm, leaving scarce options for dinner that don’t involve a taxi ride (but there is always a line of taxis in front of the hotel). We ate a few times at the hotel itself and the food was excellent. The menu is just a bit limited to eat there constantly and it made dinner a bit of an ordeal. The other downside was that the room was a bit tight on space. The bathroom was large, with a separate bathtub and shower stall but I getting in the shower stall was a bit of a struggle, even with us people average-sized people. Complementary bottles of water were given every day and there is a fridge in the room. We got a complimentary upgraded for an ocean view and that gave us a lovely view of the cruise ships coming in and out of the port. I would definitely return to the British Colonial if I came back to Nassau.

What a fabulous experience to stay in the British Colonial, such a historic site! Phenomenal renovation with modern touches in the historic building and location. Conveniently located near downtown shops and Straw Market. Relaxing by the pool and beach was so comfortable and enjoyable.

Absolutely incredible. Impeccable friendly service, exquisite decor, extremely clean (everywhere, including beach), best shower I’ve ever experienced, crazy comfy bed/pillows, organized, and all around incredible vibes. I can’t wait to go back!

The hotel has clearly had an extensive and excellent renovation. The location is perfect near downtown and Junkanoo Beach. The pools and private beach were really enjoyable, and the food was good too. Our room was spacious and very nice. I recommend the hotel immensely!

The exterior of the hotel looks very luxurious, but once you are a guest, watch out! Our room smelled like fish and we needed to move to another room- thanks to Demetrius at the front desk. The food was not very good and expensive. The beach was very nice and the outside area was clean and organized. SO if you just want a nice beach and pool, this is the place for you. I think it needs another renovation, to be honest!

We were sent to the Colonial after a series of cancelled BA flights. We arrived late at night and struggling to figure out our arrangements at 3am. The staff and management could not have been more helpful or kind - they went above and beyond to make a stressful and uncertain experience a more enjoyable one. Possibly the nicest management team I have ever experienced. Hotel was nice, recently refurbished, with a lovely bar. Much better than the ****** carnival ship that the Grand Hyatt was (where we were staying before our cancelled flight).

Four friends went for Spring Break and had a blast. Great place, loved the helpful people, the great location, the history. A couple suggestions would be water bottle filling stations instead of all that plastic, fans in the rooms, funner music at the pool and less day pass cruise ship people taking the chairs. Would go back in a heartbeat!

The room was great and i enjoyed my stay, the staff was pleasant and helpful. I truly enjoyed my time at this beautiful hotel, the food was good and the ambience of the hotel is clean and fresh. I would definitely visit and stay at British Colonial again.
