The room is big, but the location is hard to find. I searched around in the alley and finally found it after asking no less than 5 locals. If I didn’t look at the B&B sign carefully, I would have thought it was a place where locals live because the sign is too small. Well, luckily I am a man. If you are a woman, it is best not to choose this place. Safety is a problem. I still don’t understand why they sleep with blankets. The blankets haven’t been washed for hundreds of years, so I didn’t take off my clothes and pants to sleep all night!

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay with Halim in his guest house. It is perfectly located close to the Sphinx entrance of Giza, and we could walk easily to the ticket gate and to many other services in the area. There is a large Carrefour grocery store only 1km away, and Halim’s guest house included a kitchen and cooking facilities which was perfect for our family. The sheets and towels were pristine and everything was clean and in good shape. The beds were extremely comfortable (better than ours at home) and the free breakfast each morning was delicious and filling. We LOVED the views from the balcony - can’t beat the location! Halim was kind and helpful and anxious to assist. He provided free bottled water, and also helped us with transportation to local sites. We hired Halim for a day trip south to Saqqara and it was a fantastic way to see those hard-to-reach-sites. We highly recommend this place for its location, cleanliness, amenities, and of course for Halim’s wonderful care as a host. We would love to come again!

The owner and his daughter are lovely people.
The property its self was good for the price and convenient for the pyramids.it was very noisy of a night sleeping was difficult.

Staying at the Gohar Guest House is like being at someones home. Halim was a great host. Breakfast provided each morning with a great view of the Giza Pyramids.Water is provided free of charge an there are tea and coffee making facilities, also free of charge.
We were picked up from Cairo Airport and the transfer was great.
Getting into Cairo does not take long. There are plenty of Taxis and Uber's around. For the more adventureous you can also get the 2001 bus to Giza Metro, then get the Metro to just about any part of Cairo.
There are plenty of eateries around the guest house with a veriety of Egyptian Cuisine at resonable prices.
I would recommend teh Gohar Guest House as a base for exploring the Pyrimid complex and Cairo

We couldn't find it the first night! The wet-room shower was a bit dissapointing but the host was very helpful.
