The hotel was booked temporarily. The scenery on the mountain is great, but it is too expensive, nearly 3,000 yuan per night. Fortunately, the room was upgraded. The scenery is great. It is a great vacation in the small town

What a remarkable surprise! The hotel setting is absolutely magnificent, in a beautiful history-laden building surrounded by lush gardens with some extraordinary views. The food is excellent and the service was truly great. Special thanks to lovely Vega from Jerusalem, who did not stop caring and making sure we were content and satisfied even though she was only on a short fill-in assignment. The swimming pool was very clean and spacious. Make sure you visit the enchanting wine bar with an excellent menu and beautiful sitting areas in- and outside. The views from the room are breathtaking (see picture) but here comes a caveat: The room we've stayed in surely needs a complete remodeling. It was clean and comfortable but time had taken its toll and it felt outdated. It's quite regrettable since everything else about this exceptional hotel is clearly superb.

We had a pleasurable stay at the hotel. The hotel is both a modern and historic site in a fantastic location close the Safed old city steets, it has many pretty indoor and outdoor sitting areas. The breakfast is high quality with a variety of healthy and pleasing foods. We also enjoyed a complementary 3.5 hour guided tour in the region, visiting impressive viewpoints and other local places we will recommend to friends remember for years.

I would rate our room as 3 if not less. Dark, outdated, the bathroom small with a slippery narrow bathtub ( does not fit seniors).. the extra bed in our room was narrow and small for an adult ( we paid for 3 adults). There was no remote control for the tv and took some time to bring one. Also the first day cleaning of the room did not include the bathroom ( probably forgotten). On the other hand it is a historical hotel with wonderful areas to relax and beautiful views from the hotel ( unfortunately not from our 2 rooms that we ordered). They simply should not be part of this nice hotel or should be remodeled completely. Regarding breakfast, it could be improved even though there is a variety of food. The reception team is helpful and cordial.

My husband and I spent a weekend at the beautiful Ruth Hotel to celebrate our anniversary. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated, with an amazing view of the Galilee. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the meals, especially the dinners. All in all-- a delight!

We recently spent a long weekend at the Ruth Hotel in Safed. The hotel has a very good vibe, especially over Shabbat. However, there are a lot of little things that did not go well that put a drag on our stay and overall experience. Room - we had a room in the new building. I am not sure if we ordered a room in this building or if we were assigned a room in this section. Either way, the room and building are a bit run down and could benefit from an overdue renovation. "Upgrade" offer - after receiving our room, the front desk contacted us to offer us an upgrade to a room with a balcony. Just out of curiosity, we looked at the room. What the hotel was offering us was a room overlooking a parking lot that also sits on top of a maintenance storage area. This offer we of course declined. Reservations in dinning room - at first, the hotel refused to accept a reservation for dinner on Friday evening. The explanation we received was that they only take reservations from large families or something like this. After involving the hotel manager, we were finally able to make a reservation. Wine bar - we had a bad experience in the hotel's wine bar. The waiter quoted us one price for a bottle of wine and then tried to charge us another price. After again involving the hotel manager, the waiter and wine bar manager apologized to us and corrected our tab. Walking tour - the hotel offers a walking tour of Safed. The tour guide was not much of a tour guide. He only stopped every few minutes to sing a song, which was a really weird experience and a waste of two plus hours.

This was a repeat stay and we were not disappointed. Great location, obliging staff and delicious food. Just don’t stay in room 105. It is next to a very noisy automatic elevator that operates the whole of Friday night, and underneath a very noisy public balcony. The staff were sympathetic, but in fact, could not do much to solve the situation
