Holiday Inn Express & Suites New Castle

The place was pretty empty and she put us on the 3rd floor or top floor. When we walked in the room was 55 degrees at 7:15 pm. It took a long time to warm up and the halls in the hotel were about the same temperature. Then we finally got it to about 70 degrees and decided to turn it to 69 and then during the night the thermostat did it’s on thing it started going up and we were woken up by it rising to 74 degrees on its own. This thermostat we found out after 3 days staying there that it had a mind of its own. The Wi-Fi was terrible!! And the refrigerator made dinging sounds through the night . So now by this time I had , had enough. So I went downstairs and I said I wanted a different room because of the problems and she said okay. But no apologies ever from anyone there. I told the one woman the next day that my card key didn’t work. And I explained to her all the things that had went wrong and she said we haven’t heard and complaints about these things, she said this is the first time I have heard of this. Never apologizing or manners. I would never stay there again!!!

We booked this hotel for 2 days, and we had 4 rooms. The incompetent staff members, checked out one of our rooms and gave it to another person. Then to make it even better, they charged me 3 times for each room. The lovely manager there, swore it wouldn’t happen because of “all her years” of experience and I told her I’ve been down this road before. Let and behold, I’m fighting charges from them now. The place was clean and good but the staff there made it absolutely horrible. I would rather sleep in my work truck then have to deal with them in the future.

We are a family of 10 and booked two rooms online for our cross country trip. We arrived around 7 pm and were told it would be 30 minutes to get the rooms ready. After going across the street to eat we came back 45 minutes later and we’re told only one room was ready. We went to that room and found it *****ped of sheets and it had not been cleaned. Our third trip to the front desk was no better. Ultimately it took them almost two hours to get our room ready. Mind you we had many small children who were tired and cranky. The front desk clerk had parked herself on the couch in the waiting area and was reading some sort of paperback novel and wasn’t concerned about our kids waiting in the area. Totally disgusted by our treatment.

We stayed in New Castle after traveling 400 miles from NNY on our way to Pittsburgh. After sleeping, we noticed long black hairs in both beds. Neither of us have long black hair. At the check out, we told the lady at the desk. She shook her head and said “nobody in housekeeping has long black hair” I told her three times “must be the sheets were never cleaned”. We told her “not a good thing to do with Covid ramping back up” and she basically scoffed at it “Covid? Ha!” And laughed. She wanted to argue about the hairs and about Covid. Sorry, Holiday Inn, I just wanted a clean place to sleep, not sleep in filth and argue when waking up.

The first room we entered smelled terribly of urine, and there were dirty washcloths in the bathroom. The hotel moved us to a new room (the room next door), and it was better—at least no bad smell. But the hotel was dirty all over. The staff acted shocked that we found their hotel lacking, but it was clear that they don't run a tight ship there. After we left, they charged our credit card for a night's fee even though we had paid for our one night there through *******. We've been fighting to get our money back. ******* says the hotel is refunding our fee, but it still hasn't come through six days later. I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

Phone in room said dial 0 for front desk but did not work. Phone at front desk said pick up and wait for answer, nobody answered. Sign in room offered complimentary items if you forgot them, the front desk charged for them. I went to the local gas station as it was cheaper. Room cost $50 more than it was worth for the area. Bed was really low and really noisy but I had the disabled room so maybe that’s why it was so low. Everything worked, water pressure was good, hallways and rooms were clean and the housekeeping crew was very friendly.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Also liked that breakfast wasn't the same every day.

Arrived and checked in to be placed in a room that want cleaned. DIRTY used soaps hair in the beds and baths. Broken phone, microwave, crumbs in all the drawers. So they switch our room into another room that hasn't been cleaned. Moved rooms again the 3rd room had at least clean beds and bathrooms. Drawers were still filthy. Management said they can't refund any of my stay due to booking with ******* and promised to add points to Holiday Inn account, but never did. I wouldn't stay here again.

It was a great stay. Needed a couple of recovery days after a busy time in Columbus. Nice hotels with nice amenities for a couple of days, including nearby to several July 4th fireworks displays.
