The pounding right against my wall started at precisely 9AM this morning, then came the buzz saws. Ace Hotel always had a kind of punk rock vibe, but in this case "punk rock" means not letting your guests sleep in and instead attacking them. Please schedule your pounding, slamming, cutting and banging for later in the day. When you do it like this you just ensure we never come back.

Beautiful hotel right off bourbon street. You get what you pay for with this hotel and it doesn’t disappoint from the multiple live events during our stay or the award winning restaurant right in the lobby you cannot beat this location for staying in the city

The front desk agent had horrible hygiene (really bad breath) and wouldn’t stop insulting guests as if his personal opinions matter, what is that about? While having a drink in the common bar area saw a large size rat run through the area as if it was normal. Not recommended.

We spent three nights at the Barnett. While there are aspects of the hotel we thought were quite nice, including the size of the room, the nice outdoor deck adjacent to our room, the decor, the location, and the service level from the staff, our room definitely had shortcomings that cause us to give less than a five-star rating. First, there was something off with the climate control in the room that caused us not to be able to get it to set to the temperature we wanted. The room wasn't oppressively hot or cold, but it appeared the system was trying to change the temp but getting stuck. Perhaps related, there was a repeated "clunking" sound we kept hearing from the vents. It ended up being white noise that did not prevent us from sleeping properly (the bed was comfortable), but it was less than ideal. The other issue with the room was the water pressure and shower design were not optimal. The water pressure was rather low. In addition, the shower design was with a glass panel that opened at the end (no complete enclosure), so water would splash a bit onto the nearby floor. We put a towel down, but that towel got wet and I accidentally stepped on it in my sock, soaking my sock and requiring me to change. We also tried the Italian restaurant in the hotel on our first night. The food was good, but the service was quite slow. So we liked the hotel, but would describe our experience as mixed.

This hotel is excellent. Our room was clean and spacious. We spent most of our mornings downstairs in the lobby or at the coffee shop. In the evenings, we would get a glass of wine at the bar before heading out to dinner. There are so many superior restaurants within walking distance that it was hard to choose. Seaworthy, which is part of the hotel, is one of our favorites. The rooftop was not as shown in the photos, and that was a letdown, but it did not impact our stay. Fabulous hotel. We cannot wait to return in December!
