Hyatt Grand Central New York

Connected to Grand Central Terminal, right next to the Chrysler Building, and within walking distance to Fifth Avenue, Central Park, the Public Library, and the Empire State Building. Our twin room even had a small living area. Of course, it can't compare to a Grand Hyatt in China, as it's an older building that's decades old, but the great location makes up for it!

The location is unbeatable, right next to Grand Central. The $15 daily credit for water and breakfast is a nice touch. However, the room was completely bare, not even a single cup, which was a bit frustrating.

The Hyatt Grand Central New York is perfectly located right inside Grand Central Terminal on 42nd Street in Midtown. The subway entrance is literally right outside the door, making getting around incredibly convenient. We also got a nice perk: a $15 daily voucher to spend at the Market Place shop next to the front desk for snacks. The room size was good, and we even had a city view. The staff were friendly, and the lobby was spacious and comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again.

The location is fantastic, making it convenient to get around everywhere. The hotel feels very secure too; the lobby security even asks to see your room card before you can enter. There are also plenty of Chinese restaurants nearby. The only downsides are that the bathroom is a bit small, and the glass top on the desk isn't very comfortable – I kept scraping my arm on it.

The hotel's location is superb, and the 24-hour customer service is a huge plus. I also appreciated that elevator access is restricted to guests, which adds to security. The FC fitness center offers self-service water, which is very convenient. Overall, I'm always very satisfied with this booking.

The location is excellent, making it convenient to get to both Upper and Lower Town. The hotel is connected to the Central Station by a skywalk, which is a huge plus if you have luggage. Although the hotel is a bit older, the facilities are well-maintained, clean, and meet the Hyatt standard.

The hygiene was terrible. The bed linens were visibly stained and dirty. When I asked for them to be changed, a male staff member came with a sheet and expected me to change it myself! I explained that the entire bed was dirty – sheets, duvet cover, and pillows – and asked if I could switch rooms. The front desk then gave me an even smaller room, which was unbelievable. This is the first time I've encountered such a situation where a hotel gives you a worse room after complaining. Later, I told them I didn't want to stay there tomorrow, as we had booked for four nights. Since it was very late, I planned to change rooms the next day. It seems they were worried we would leave, so they eventually gave me a larger room. The next morning, at 8 AM, they started calling to harass me to move rooms. Because of the dirty room issue, I was up until 3 AM and didn't get enough sleep, yet they called three times by 8 AM to rush me to switch. This is the worst hotel experience I've had in all my travels around the world. For a hotel costing over $300 a night, I don't expect luxury, but at least it should be clean and have basic service quality. Apart from its downtown location, this hotel has nothing but drawbacks. There are plenty of other clean hotels in the city center at a similar price point! Avoid this place!

The location is truly excellent, right in the heart of Manhattan. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is just around the corner. I'd likely choose this place again on my next trip to New York. The value for money is decent. Plus, the lobby has an automatic umbrella dispenser, which is super convenient if it rains.
