Crowne Plaza HY36 MIDTOWN MANHATTAN by IHG

It's rare to find such a good value hotel in Manhattan. There's a Harbin Restaurant right across from the hotel, and a Bank of China if you turn left when you exit. I'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located in central Manhattan, about a 5-minute walk from the train station. The room was spacious, and the front desk staff were quite welcoming! They even offered a glass of champagne during check-in, which was a bit awkward as I ended up carrying my luggage in one hand and the glass in the other while heading to the elevator!

The bathroom has an industrial design. The room isn't huge, but it's cozy. The front desk manager was very friendly and thoughtful during check-in; they upgraded my room type, though I couldn't tell the difference, maybe it was just a higher floor. There was also a welcome champagne offer, which I declined, and they kindly gave me a bottle of water instead. It's within walking distance to The Edge observation deck. The deposit is 100 USD, and there's a 34 USD resort fee.

The room wasn't huge, but for New York City, the price was decent, and the facilities were quite good. The front desk staff were also very helpful and even gave me a high-floor room with a view. However, the cleanliness was pretty subpar. When I unfolded a bath towel, I saw dust fall off – I'm not sure if it was lint or something else. After showering, I lay on the bed, and within 15 minutes, my face had an allergic reaction. I have a severe dust mite allergy, so I immediately suspected either the towel or the bedding was dirty. I called the front desk to ask if they had any allergy medicine and explained the situation, asking what could be done. They said the hotel didn't provide it and I could buy my own. They also mentioned that if I wanted to switch rooms, a manager would need to come up and check the situation first. Since I was exhausted after a concert and only staying one night, I just didn't bother changing rooms. I asked the front desk to send up fresh towels and ordered some medicine to be delivered to the hotel myself. So, my review is that everything was great except for the hygiene.

I stayed for ten nights, and the location is absolutely fantastic. It's a 5-minute walk to Penn Station, a 15-minute walk to Port Authority Terminal for day trips to Boston or Washington, and a 20-minute walk to Broadway for shows. In the other direction, it's also a 20-minute walk to the High Line, so it's incredibly convenient. The hotel has a modern and stylish design, and the room facilities are well-appointed and comfortable. The restaurant downstairs is delicious, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which I really enjoyed. There's also a famous bagel shop and a small supermarket nearby, along with great pizza places.

The hotel is quite close to Penn Station, making it convenient for getting around. However, the room is very small.
