110th Boutique Hotel

Location is everything here. And expectations have to be put straight. The apartment (to be fair, this isn't a hotel) is located steps from the subway line 6 which runs stright to downtown. For 34 USD per week, you can forget on Taxis and Ubers, it will get you anywhere within 30 mins. The neighborhood is a bit shady, but wouldn't say insecure. A large store is within 2 min walking distance, an overpriced bakery is next door. The apartment needs new beds (not just mattresses), and should be "refreshed" a bit (the bathroom especially). It wasn't dirty, although based on our socks, it wasn't super clean also. We were also one night without heating and hot water, but it doesn't seem like this was owners fault and it was resolved in the morning. The check-in process could be easier, since it isn't like a hotel where you just show up (no reception), but rather you need to call/text few different numbers (which might get expensive if you are from outside of US). Overall, were happy with our stay, for that money and with the Airbnb ban, I doubt you will find better place for that price NYC. However, don't expect a hotel experience.

Don’t stay here. They charged a $75 “late check-in fee” because we arrived at 6pm. Television did not work. Very sketchy neighborhood.

The staff was pleasant. The place was clean. Excellent service and stay. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed it

The room was very clean but a little chilly. The light from outside was intrusive and the kitchen subpar. The shower was also merely adequate

Cons: * This is not a boutique hotel or even really a hotel to begin with, but more of a simple, small apartment. * The description and images are a bit misleading and do not match reality. * Rooms are dark with insufficient lighting at night. * Old beds with creaky frames and uncomfortable mattresses. * The AC was incredibly loud and did not work well, while the heater seemed to be constantly on. * Check-in time is very restrictive, with a $75 fee for late check-in. * No front desk or on-site staff available for assistance. Messaging only. (And no replies) * No elevator and no luggage storage. * The area feels unsafe especially at night and may not be suitable for tourists. * One of the bedrooms had a strong, unpleasant smell Pros: * The kitchen is well-equipped with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, oven, and utensils. * Amenities include an iron, ironing board, and hair dryer. * Rooms and sheets were reasonably clean. * Convenient location with a bakery next door, a subway station just steps away, and close proximity to Central Park.

So freaking awesome! No it’s not in the middle of manhattan but it’s literally 30 seconds from the subway to get there. Ppl have bad opinions on Harlem but I have nothing but great things to say after this trip! host was very easy to reach! My only two negatives would be if coming in the winter the heater is on 24/7 and can make it very hot but you get used to it. The AC wasn’t blowing much but I hear that’s just a NYC thing in the winter. And there was a piece of hair in our bed sheets before we could even use it. You could see it through the sheets, accidents happen whenever someone is cleaning before your arrival so we ignored it and just slept on top of the sheets. Other than that very affordable perfect place if you wanna visit the city!

The staff was fine, the room was pretty clean. The issues I had were pretty annoying. First the check-in procedure was not travel friendly. I didn't know until after the non-refundable booking that you had to check-in between 2-4. Second, you literally need to be a contortionist to use the shower, NO water pressure and it just dribbles down the wall. Third, they set the heat and we were told not to touch it. It was so hot in there I thought I'd have a heat stroke. Fourth, check-out is at 10 with NO storage. So good luck with that.

This was a very disappointing stay, the room in the photo is not the room we stayed in. The customer service was poor- they wouldn't let us check in when we landed saying 9:30pm was to late for check in even though there was no mention of no check in past certain times in the ad. The place was ok- the larger room had a terrible mattress, sleeping on plywood is more comfortable. It was also extremely loud, when you sat on it creaked and made noise that could be heard around the entire place. The door to get into the room was funky and seemed broken- we had to call someone to open it the first night, thank goodness they answered and helped us. The room was unbearably hot like 35 celsius hot and when we messaged asking for them to turn the heat off they said to close the one radiator valve. This helped minimally but there are multiple poles around the room that radiate heat constantly and will burn you if touched. The place was relatively clean but I would not stay here again. The ad is very misleading and hides information about the location, building, and policies. I would spend a little more money to stay at another apartment building or hotel instead of this one.

Pros; - fantastic value for a 2 bed apt!! - close to Central Park and steps away from subway. Easy to get anywhere quickly. - cool but a bit gritty neighborhood. - amazing little coffee shop downstairs - loved the coffee and amazing pastries. Cons: - communication was spotty. Even though I updated when we were in the Lyft with exact arrival time, no one met us. I had to send several messages and we still ended up waiting 10 minutes outside with our luggage in the cold before they showed up the keys - the apartment was unbearably hot ((when the temp was in the 20s outside!). Several texts went unanswered so we turned all 3 AC units on. (When we saw the property manager in person the next day and complained- she was very nice and helped us turn the radiator off.) - no instructions provided on how to check out and return keys (finally sent a note about leaving them on the counter) - front bedroom bed is extremely hard - like sleeping on a board. And I like a hard mattress:-). - limited supplies for 4 people : 4 small towels and one hand towel. 3 forks, 2 hangers (in the whole apt!). No dish soap. A little restocking would go a long way -make sure you pay attention to the very strict arrival policy. We were fine but if our flight had been delayed another 30 min - we would have arrived late and given a $75 fee! And wouldn’t have been able to check in at all after 7! In spite of the above minor shortcomings - it was a pretty darn good stay for the price!
