Hotels in Chelsea, New York

Room is great, slightly dated but clean, comfortable, and (by NYC standards) quite large! Appreciated the mini fridge in the room, it’s useful for storing cold drinks. The staff were warm and polite, and helped me extend my stay a night.

As a youth hostel, it's great. The location is excellent for shopping and catching the train. It was snowing heavily, making for a fantastic experience. Convenience of check-in: High; Safety: The surrounding area felt okay; I felt safe going out at night.

It’s a hot summer and the room is hot. It’s not warm, it’s hot. The AC doesn’t work, and apparently hasn’t been working fundamentally for almost a year. I asked for a fan for 4 days and they finally gave me a small fan that doesn’t work! It’s a tiny fan dub as a heater, and there’s no wind coming out. My room was over 84F. The engineers were not helpful, however they really tried and they were so much nicer than the receptionist. The rooms are spacious, and I have to say the staffs are trying and most are nice. The front desk however was quite rude. But with the quality of the breakfast, which doesn’t even have toasts or cornflakes, I’m not sure how this hotel has 4 stars. With the money paid, it’s really not worth it. With the same money you can stay at somewhere 3 stars and better. I’ve asked for a refund and it’s not even an option. Note that there’s a €37 per night amenity fees after your stay, and with the only amenity I was satisfied was the ice machine, to cool the room off, it’s not worth it.

The management of this particular Holiday Inn could do much better in providing amenities such as a CLOCK. The hotel is poorly designed and in disrepair. The counter space in my bathroom was practically non-existent. The placement of the desk and chair directly underneath the television is illogical. Although the Holiday Inn is now owned and operated by IHG, that's no excuse to denigrate the reputation of this once great hotel chain. I will be traveling to Amarillo, Texas later on this month and staying at another Holiday Inn. I dare say, that the look and feel of the facility will be a 180 degree turn from the one in Chelsea. Pretty shameful

Good location and friendly staff all. If you think it's a hotel that you have to see everything for the price It's a place that I'm so satisfied. There was a toilet in a double room and the bathroom was shared, but it was not very uncomfortable because it was locked and used by one person.

Location, all that matters. Staff was great, helpful, and kind to help us all the way. Especially the person at the door with whom I had a very personal and meaningful conversation. Fireplace in the lobby, next level spot for your socials. Breakfast is not really my thing. European taste (even Australian one) is very different from local US ones. It's good to have, but around, there are always options.

The hotel is in a great location. You can walk to the Empire State Building, Times Square and other attractions. There are supermarkets and fast food restaurants nearby. The front desk service is very good, but the air conditioning is a bit noisy.

The staff were extremely friendly and the room was clean. Wished that the rooms were bigger but it was at least sufficient for us to open our luggages comfortably. Water was available for refilling but no water bottles provided free of charge, so do remember to bring your own! Lift broke down whilst we were there and the lift took ages to come. Would be good if repair was more efficient.

The location is excellent, walking distance to the train station and major sights and close to many subway lines. The room was pretty spacious compared to what you normally find in Manhattan and actually had a clear view out the window (i.e., not right next to another building). It had a safe and a large TV and plenty of hot water. The room was a little worn but the bathroom looked like it had been updated more recently. Breakfast was ok, a good amount of hot and cold food. Good value for money.
