I was a little dubious about staying here given the last few poor reviews, however i cannot recommend this hotel enough, it was clean, comfortable and extremely central everything was perfect from start to finish, we will definitely stay again

I used to live in Gateshead and had always wanted to stay at the Vermont, so thought I’d try the apartments for a 4 night visit to see friends! The first night we arrived back late and I just wanted to relax after a hot shower! This was not to be! It was late so I showered in cold water and went to bed! The next morning I complained to reception and was told it would have been the time of night and there must have been no hot water left! I came back in from the gym at 1400 (I was meeting friends at 1530) to still cold water, so we changed rooms! This was arranged by the housekeeping team! That evening, now in our new room, I came in to find the room freezing! I was advised by reception that it was because the heating was on a timer! Funnily enough the reception and communal areas were the temperature of the sun! I would have gone back to complain but the receptionist was asleep! We picked the apartment because we were there for 4 nights and didn’t want to eat out all the time, but the kitchen is very sparsely equipped, we had to go out and buy our own cloth and washing up liquid! For an apartment advertised as luxury, I would have expected a small welcome pack, but there was nothing, just some mini bar items that were extremely expensive! The Wi-Fi was dread All in all our stay was disappointing! I work for a travel company and I would not recommend these apartments! We are currently staying in a budget hotel, the shower is hot, the room is warm and the receptionist receptive and helpful! You don’t always get what you pay for!!!

Although first impression of the Apartment are good, there are a few niggling issues… cant sleep with heating on as the system rattles, no bath robes, dusting is hit and miss… but the worse thing is the water..: the pressure is poor and the temperature is at best lukewarm Reported it repeatedly.. no one ever came. We were told it was because people were using it?!!! So if you want lukewarm wster this is the olace. Rationing finished in the 50s even in Newcastle. Just got fobbed off repeatedly.:they know sbout it and do nothing. Reception said they would tell the manager as we left. So what? No offer of a reduction Poor customer service. Think before booking here

A mixed review of the Vermont Aparthotel. I actually thought I was booked into the Vermont Hotel where I've stayed many times, but I must have confused the two places when booking. This was my first stay at the apartments. My room was large and well decorated room. However it faced onto the Quayside so there was plenty of noise from the street as you'd expect for a Friday. The major issue for me was that there was no hot water. Whilst ice cold showers are supposedly good for you, it'd be nice to have the choice when preparing to go out and in the morning. I reported the issue to reception but nothing could be done about it after I'd checked out. Also the towel rail in the bathroom fell off! My sleep was comfortable and being an appointment there's a kitchen should you need one. The staircase carpets also need replacing or thoroughly cleaning. Also need hot water that isn't reliant on the kettle! I'm definitely sticking to the hotel.

Check in staff were very helpful and the location is great, right in the heart of the city. The hotel is small and the rooms are spacious, however the rooms could do with an aesthetic overhall as the ceiling had the paint chipped all above the bed (presumably from blue tack used previously) and there was marks and dust pretty much around the whole room. Bed was comfortable, however the windows are thin and you can hear every noise within the busy streets of the quayside. The stay was ruined by the fact that the couple who checked in after us received a key to the same room that we were in, therefore letting them walk straight into our room! This made us feel uneasy for the rest of the stay, having to manually lock it every time we entered the room. The kicker is the £100 authorisation payment which we were made aware of, but still haven’t received back after 2 weeks and when contacted, the person offered little to no help or advice. I wouldn’t return.

Very friendly service. Check-in starts at 15:00, but we could leave our bags at reception and they were brought to the room as soon as it was ready. Everything was clean and comfortable. The shower was a bit tricky to get the water just right. The kitchen is very sparsely equipped, so don't plan on making any big meals. You can't open the windows, which is just as well in Newcastle "car city" upon Tyne, but there was airconditioning. Operating it was trial-and-error, but fresh air arrived.

We Stayed at the Vermont Aparthotel on Sat 29th July, arrived at 11-30am and room wasn't ready which was to be expected but we could get changed and leave our bags for the day. Young girl on reception was very friendly and helpful....... On our return we were given our room keys from another member of staff, on exiting the lift on floor 2 there was rubbish all over the carpet. The room which is fairly big in size was very underwhelming, decor is badly needing revamped, furniture is out dated, bathrooms need a re vamp, carpets are badly needing replaced, kitchen seating area is mega uncomfortable...... On the plus side the bed was very comfortable. For £340 a night the place did not have a lot going for it, not a patch on the Hotel. Won't be back at the Aparthotel

Excellent location, modern and well equipped apartment. The apartment is a couple of minutes walk from the main hotel that has a fabulous roof top bar called Above with great city views at night. Friendly reception staff on arrival and departure . Apartment was clean and comfortable with drinks and snacks available to purchase at a small charge . Beds were comfortable for a good nights sleep. Only negative was that some aspects looked a bit tired - for example the fabric on the throws on the beds was clicked , and the table and doors and skirting boards were a bit scratched . Overall a great stay though
