I picked this location since everything is within walking distance. I’ve stayed at other places nearby and wanted to give this place a try. The reviews seemed ok - basic and clean place to stay. We arrived around 6pm and it was already dark outside. The front desk person was very nice and friendly. Our building was in the back, which wasn’t well lit and with random people standing around, staring at everything we did from parking the car to getting our belongings out and walking to the elevator, it quickly began to feel unsafe. The elevator was rusted and sounded like it was going to stop working at any moment. As soon as we walked into the room, I could smell ****. I’m highly allergic and it makes me sick. I checked the sheets on one bed, which had hair on the pillows and sheets smelled dirty. I didn’t bother looking at the other bed. The bathtub and toilet were rusted and vanity full of dirt. We didn’t stay any longer. I went back to the front desk to “checkout” not expecting a refund since I booked through a third party. I explained to the nice person it smells like ****, I’m highly allergic, already feeling sick and don’t want to try another room. She immediately said she’d give me a refund so I didn’t say anything else. It’s a very old and run down place. Unfortunately, management doesn’t appear to care how it’s maintained or check the cleanliness of the rooms. It was too dark to see what type of condition the grounds were in, but they definitely need more lights.
