Property Description
Overlooking Fistral Beach, this stylish Victorian hotel features a Five Bubble rated spa, surf school, approach golf course and a wonderful sea-view terrace. Awarded a 5-stay AA rating, the Headland Hotel is a 10-minute walk from Newquay center. The impressive leisure facilities include a brand new Aqua Club which includes 6 outdoor and indoor pools (open all year round). The spa includes a Cornish salt steam room, a Swedish sauna, a hot tub, and experience showers. Treatments by Elemis, Voya and OPI can be booked in the state-of-the-art ash wood paneled rooms or work out in the fully equipped Life Fitness gym. There are three restaurants, and the hotel has been awarded an AA rosette. Guests can enjoy the best of Cornish coastal produce in the restaurant RenMor. The Deck as part of the Aqua Club offers poolside drinks, and Mediterranean dining. Afternoon teas and Cornish breakfasts are available, and the bar offers cocktails and fine wines. The spacious 5-star bedrooms at The Headland have free Wi-Fi access and satellite TV. All rooms feature a cozy seating area, a work desk and a modern bathroom with fluffy robes. The hotel has a communal laundry room, where guests can access a washing machine and a tumble dryer, as well as ironing facilities. Perched on a rugged headland, this hotel is just a 20-minute walk from Newquay Railway Station. Free on-site parking is available, and Newquay Golf Club is a 5-minute walk away. The surf school also offers coasteering, standup paddleboarding and private surfing lessons. The Headland is dog-friendly and up to two dogs can stay in each bedroom per nights. Regrettably, we are not able to accommodate any other pets. Our bedroom capacities are limited to maximum of 2 people. 1 adult and 1 child (12 and under) can travel together. Ugly Butterfly by Adam Handling is also available as a dining option but is operated separately from the Headland.

We organised a small spa break for some rest and team bonding, and the Headland could not have been more accommodating. They offered us a brilliant rate and made the whole thing feel effortless. Huers Cottage was ideal for a group stay, private and comfortable. The beds were a touch firm, but the sofa made up for it. The complimentary tea, coffee, fudge and biscuits were very welcome. The beach-cottage style was charming and surprisingly stylish, and having more than one toilet was a blessing. Our balcony had a lovely sea view, and we even woke up to the first snow in Cornwall, which felt unreal. The spa was outstanding. The hydro massage was so relaxing it felt like time stopped. The changing rooms were spotless and well stocked, and the shower gels smelled so good we all talked about them afterward. Dinner was exceptional. My medium steak was cooked perfectly and was easily one of the best I have had. The thousand layer fries were outrageous in the best way. The open kitchen was a pleasure to watch, calm and spotless, and the chefs worked with real precision. It added a lot to the experience. The staff who looked after our motley crew from The Nare were brilliant. The concierge who greeted us, Lola from RenMor and MK at breakfast were all attentive, friendly and genuinely good at what they do. Breakfast was another highlight. The scrambled eggs were exactly how they should be, light and fluffy, not the heavy stuff you sometimes see elsewhere. The hotel looked beautiful with the Christmas decorations, warm and festive without being over the top. We left feeling relaxed, well fed and already planning the next visit.

From the moment we entered the lobby to the moment we checked out, me and my husband felt welcomed, appreciated, and part of a warm, friendly environment. The hotel is so incredibly beautiful and inviting. Until being a guest recently at the Headland Hotel, we had not encountered a team that were so warm, welcoming, and friendly. I can't quite put my finger on it, but we just felt so comfortable there, without a hint of anyone not happy to work there. Great customer service. Beautiful breakfast with excellent service. Beautiful room with such a comfortable bed and bedding. We actually live in Cornwall but would definitely go back just to feel so calm, relaxed and looked after. AquaClub facilities are wonderful, too. Cocktails in the outdoor hot tub, regardless of the weather, watching the sea... perfect

Just had another great stay , everything from start to finish was just perfect. We stayed in a Fistral View room and would highly recommend. Check in was quick and easy , breakfast was very well organised and set you up for the day. We had dinner and afternoon tea in RenMor and both were very good , you need to book afternoon tea 24 hours in advance. All the staff were very friendly and efficient and are a credit. Will be back again soon .

Very disappointed - stayed in the cottages which were described as luxury and cosy for my 60th birthday present. The room was shabby, poorly maintained and the carpet was grubby. The shower floods the bathroom and the toilet does not flush effectively. Minimum stay is three nights in a cottage. So disappointed by the whole experience that we are leaving a day early. Dinner is booked tonight at the Ugly Butterfly as a birthday present so we wanted to have one good experience from the weekend - if it wasn’t for that we would have checked out this morning. Spoke to the Duty Manager this morning who asked to see photographs of the room and we emailed them to her. She just called us to say they would give us 10% off as a gesture of good will. We were astonished and said no, not acceptable and she then rang back and said final offer is 20%. So we will have spent a lot of hard earned money on a truly dreadful stay at a hotel and we feel really sad.

10/10 from start to finish. The service made this experience for us. Not only is the hotel stunning and cleaned to perfection but every single staff member is so friendly and welcoming (which is a big thing for us). Shout out to Ellie on reception, it was her first day but you couldn’t even tell! She gave us tour around the hotel and checked us in spot on! Shout out to Ryan who greeted us for breakfast each morning. Such a smily, happy chap! The spa is absolutely amazing! Being able to use it as and when you want if you are a guest at the hotel. Worth every single penny and will be retuning for sure.
