The whole experience was excellent in every way. Everything has been done with style underpinned by a clear commitment to sustainable living. The room was fantastic, the staff were most helpful and friendly. There is something very special about this place!

Great wee place, good rooms, great views, great tasting food, pleasant staff. The only downside would be if you were in a wheelchair and wanted to use the Spa facilities, it would be limiting!

I have rarely come across a less professional outfit than these guys. It has taken a solid week to try book lunch for 9 people with a months notice. I have gotten completely contradictory information via email from staff on reception about the menu options....and thats when they can be bothered to email you back, mostly your email goes unanswered and you need to chase for a reply. Oh and don't even bother trying to call, the phone either rings out or they answer and hang up on you. Far from the premium service they ought to be.

Stayed here numerous times usually as a couple but on this occasion stayed solo. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind. They've made spa access a little stricter (one visit per stay) and I'd definitely recommend checking if there is a wedding on prior to going as it does make everything much busier and noisier. The food is fabulous, breakfast is plentiful and delicious, lunch/dinner is farm to fork and well priced. The tasting menu is worth trying also. A lovely gem in the hills of Gullion. The rooms are large and comfortable. Always clean and well equipped.

Wow! What a place. Had a 1 night break here with my wife, and what a hidden gem it is. 1 hour from Dublin. Amazing welcome, amazing food. Rooms are beautiful, and the staff can't do enough. It's unbelievably peaceful and tranquil. We will be back!

The setting is beautiful and the check in staff were welcoming but the stay from then went downhill. Stayed in a double mountain view room. Room incredibly hot and while they have an air-conditioning panel, you can't use it, they did provide a fan which helped a bit. As you can see from the photos our minibar wasn't restocked before we got there,(no fridge but ice on request) There's a list of what should be available but most wasn't. The white wine was open and only 1/2 full and a red, which looks like it had been refilled with water, they never even changed it on the 2nd day, even though we let them know. Went down to the spa, once again lovely staff but it's small and only 1/2 of it is working) You've no control over turning on the jets, the overhead massager didn't work, only 1 of the round ones work and the aroma shower didn't work either. Went for dinner in the bistro/bar that night as they do a Sunday roast dinner in main restaurant only that day. Food was shocking, I ordered the tapas plate, it had definitely been made earlier and not covered, salad on top was completely wilted, goats cheese was dry and parma ham was curling up and brown. (The bread was nice at least!) Husband had the steak and while cooked to the way he liked, it was completely smothered in sauce, to cover that it was really fatty. To end it all, the 2nd day I went to breakfast, I was left standing over 10 minutes waiting for a table, even though he at the 2 groups in front of me immediately, as he got distracted serving people, getting more plates, extra ketchup, even when he finally came up and said he'd get a table set up for me, he actually went back to what he was doing for another 3 minutes before getting the cutlery (table was free from before I arrived just needing setting)and just to add insult to injury the coffee machine was broken. It is not a cheap place to stay and I just expected a bit more attention to detail and things to actually be working

Idyllic spot near the Irish Border. Lovely views. We found navigating around the hotel somewhat confusing. Our main issue was with the ground floor accommodation which had no means of allowing fresh air into the room without leaving a patio door open. There was no air conditioning in the bedroom either. The staff were very lovely and went out of their way to make our stay a good one.
