The hotel's facilities are aging, the toilet is clogged, and after a few calls, the maintenance staff came to repair it. After the repairs, the toilet rim was dirty and didn't do a little cleaning, which doesn't match the hotel's reputation.

Booked this hotel for my 70th birthday celebrations and as part of an 18 day birthday trip around the east of Canada. Stayed in five different hotels in different locations and sadly this one - where we had my actual birthday dinner - was the weakest of them all. Positives - good location, pleasant room, excellent restaurant staff. Nice bottle of wine, and cheese and fruit tray in room upon arrival to mark my birthday. Negatives - efficient but very impersonal, unfriendly and unhelpful reception staff. Even when there were no guests at reception and given that the desk is right beside the entrance you were never greeted with a smile, a 'hello', a 'how was your day' or a 'goodbye'. When I asked one of the two receptionists on duty in an empty reception if they could please make a call to confirm an onward transport arrangement the following morning I was told, "You can use the telephone on the concierge's desk or use the one in your room." I had a mobile with me if I'd wanted to make the call myself but I wasn't sure of the national and regional codes from a UK mobile so I even gave them the number of the Canadian company to call. I ended up having to figure it out myself - very unhelpful! The a/c unit in the bedroom made the most ridiculous racket when the fan kicked in. As it was needed to maintain an even temperature during the night that meant being awakened - and I sleep very sound - every hour or so. This wasn't just a gentle hum - this was a real noise! The birthday dinner was a big disappointment and was the worst meal we had in our entire trip. I ordered medium-rare steak and my wife ordered the lamb shank. Both arrived tough, overcooked and extremely well-done. The portion sizes of everything were huge but that doesn't disguise very mediocre food quality. Sadly, the very pleasant and helpful nature of the restaurant staff was let down by the quality of the food served. This hotel has the feeling of pretentiously trying to hit well above its weight but failing in several areas.

Great location. Ambiance and decor was vintage and had Titanic style vibes. Sister hotels are beautiful too. We didn’t get the breakfast package and we should have. You can use it at their sister hotels too and it’s the ala carte menu. Breakfast at Queens Landing was delicious, as was dinner at Post and Pillar. Would recommend any of the Vintage Hotels. Service at all three were excellent.

We chose the Prince of Wales to stay for our anniversary. We stayed in the main hotel and were concerned it might be noisy but it was quiet as can be. We had a beautiful suite room with a jetted tub. It was amazing. There was an anniversary card, chocolates, oranges, and a rose as well in our room. Very sweet. The pool area was clean and lovely. All in all, a great time and we would return.

My daughter-in-law and a friend took me to Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara on the Lake for my 70th birthday, it was a dream come true to have stayed at the most beautiful hotel I ever could have imagined, I was welcomed in the room with a birthday card and chocolates, the second day with roses, a must stay hotel !

We had a fabulous stay in this beautiful hotel. From the moment we entered the gracious rose filled lobby, were assisted to our luxurious room, dined deliciously with a window view, to checking out regretfully, we were treated like friends and royalty!

Located in a wonderful area, across the street from a lovely park in the center of all the shops and restaurants at Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. Only 10 minutes easy walk to the lake with rock beach and great views. We had a premium king room with fireplace. The beautifully appointed room was elegant with a lovely little living room with working gas fireplace, TV, comfortable couch, coffee table, coffee station with Nespresso machine and assorted coffee capsules. Bottled water was provided but there was no mini fridge which was disappointing. Separate bedroom with ensuite bathroom, room closet with safe, another TV, desk with chair, bench and several dressers and side tables. Unfortunately the bed was too soft, sloped into the center so my husband and I ended up in the center of the bed. It therefore definitely needs to be replaced. They provided many pillows but they were too hard, thankfully I brought my own pillow. The bathroom was nice although older. Heated towel rack was older and could be a hazard as it gets very hot. A nightlight is needed so you can find your way in the dark. Blinds make the room sufficiently dark. There are lots of plugs available to charge devices. Summary I’m not sure I would stay at this hotel again only due to the bed.

All the staff were friendly, helpful and every single one from front desk, maintenance, to doormen would acknowledge and wish you a great visit. The service was exemplary. I usually don't sleep well the first night at a hotel but I slept like a baby. The bed was very comfortable and the room temperature was perfect.
